The Senior Data Engineer fills a critical foundational role enabling institute researchers, analysts and thought leaders to maximize productivity by generating efficient, robust and accurate datasets from multiple internal (and external) systems to serve regular repeating and ad hoc project needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with institute research directors, data scientists and researchers to prioritize solutions to enable business and information needs.
  • Being involved in every stage of the data product development life cycle; from coordinating initial requirements with business owners, through development with subject matter experts and data scientists, and then developing repeatable production steps with limited requirements for manual steps.
  • Advise or lead the development, implementation and validation of new process technologies, macros and applications.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvements to internal processes regarding model development, including internal data pipelines and modelling frameworks that will facilitate advanced analytics.
  • Collaborating with data scientists to turn working prototypes into well-abstracted, reusable modules for iterative development of data science projects.
  • Create Complex Information Links to pull the data from multiple data sources, integration of databases from multiple studies or sources with optimized and repeatable data acquisition approaches.
  • Designs and conducts comprehensive documentation and testing of processes and/or code which are developed.
  • Is self-directed, collaborative and overseeing multiple projects from concept to completion.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree Computer science or related field and 7 years relevant experience Req Or Bachelor's Degree Computer science or related field and 8 years relevant experience Req OR Equivalent combination of education, training and experience Req
  • Demonstrated knowledge of higher- level programing language such as SAS, python, SQL etc. and can perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), data wrangling, report generation using any of SAS/PYTHON/SQL
  • Experience of working and creation of dashboards on Power BI/tableau platform
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to process scientific data.
  • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical and clinical trial data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Excellent knowledge of statistical programming.
  • Ability to identify data issues, present problems, and implement solutions quickly.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $117,400.00 - $218,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
