Hands-on Lead Architect

Will lead the development of the architecture of the IQVIA Expert Ecosystem platform. This platform provides a comprehensive view of scientific, clinical, and digital expert leadership. It spans all therapeutic areas and geographies, enabling users to identify the most relevant experts for medical affairs and commercial needs.

The ideal candidate for this role:

  • Has good AWS knowledge: we use many AWS products, for instance: Lambdas, OpenSearch (ElasticSearch), SQS, SNS, RDS, DynamoDB, AppSync (Graphql), Step Functions, Cloudfront, S3, Cloudwatch, Ecs/Ecr
  • Experience in dockerised platforms running on k8s, Azure and GitLab pipelines would be a bonus
  • Has experience in enhancing productivity across multiple Agile engineering teams by establishing and defining cross-team standards, tooling, and patterns
  • Has experience with Infrastructure as code: We use Pulumi, experience with Terraform or Cloudformation would be a bonus
  • Is proficient with Typescript: our infrastructure, backend and React.js frontend is written in Typescript. Experience with monorepos, Nx, Nest.js and microfrontends would be a bonus
  • Strives for strong testing practices, continuous delivery to production, monitoring and alerting with Datadog or Grafana
  • Has experience in leading by example and architecting efficient/performant solutions in the cloud
  • Has In-depth working knowledge in a technology domain such as distributed internet-scale web, DevOps, Serverless, Big Data, Analytics, Machine Learning, high-performance databases (SQL and/or NoSQL)

Role and responsibilities:

  • Drive the evolution of the architecture at Expert Ecosystem, aligning it with the existing principles and with the Product vision set by the Head of Product
  • Define requirements, estimations and deadlines for new features in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Facilitate brainstorming session and stories kick off ensuring the solutions are fit for purpose, scalable, secure, and resilient
  • Create and maintain essential software documentation, including architecture diagrams, to support alignment and clarity across teams
  • Help keeping AWS costs low and with high-security standards
  • Improve the existing cloud estate with good practises and continuously review the cloud approach
  • Lead by example (good coding practises), be hands-on, pair programming with engineers and feedback on code and technical approaches to feature implementation
