Job Description

Role Summary:

IQVIA Commercial Solutions Insight Hub (CSIH) is a market-leading, delivery-oriented division within IQVIA Commercial Solutions. CSIH team members consult with manufacturers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry to meet the challenges of today’s complex and evolving healthcare landscape. As part of CSIH, the Data Science & Advanced Analytics group (DSAA) is at the forefront of leveraging cutting-edge data science techniques and advanced analytics to drive innovation in healthcare. Comprised of experts in data analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, the team focuses on transforming complex healthcare data into actionable insights. By harnessing patient-level claims data and other diverse datasets, the DSAA team develops robust models and solutions that enhance decision-making, optimize outcomes, and support the development of new healthcare offerings.

You will support a range of AI/ML-driven projects and research initiatives for our pharmaceutical clients, with a particular focus on the commercial pharma sector. You will enhance the methodology and packaging of advanced analytics solutions for client delivery. You will contribute to the execution of multiple consulting projects of varying complexity, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery. Additionally, you will collaborate with IQVIA principals, engagement managers, and other key stakeholders on product development and planning to anticipate and meet evolving customer needs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong quantitative background and the ability to transform business questions into analytical models, develop algorithms, and conduct AI/ML experiments to rapidly test new ideas.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver AI/ML-based custom patient studies for commercial pharmaceutical clients.

  • Support the development and execution of statistical methodologies for standard and custom research projects.

  • Conduct statistical analyses to derive conclusions from studies and assist in preparing written summaries of study results.

  • Design and develop innovative analytical solutions and methodologies to enhance existing offerings.

  • Create and implement automation pipelines for existing offerings to improve operational efficiency and streamline processes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to engineer comprehensive solutions and integrate multiple methodologies.

  • Rapidly prototype and test new ideas using machine learning and data mining technologies, contributing to the development of new AI/ML offerings and go-to-market initiatives.

  • Validate statistical analysis and ensure the accuracy of deliverables.

  • Understand client’s needs, helps identify and resolve issues, support project engagement teams in building and maintaining positive client relations for advanced analytics offerings.

  • Provides project management support such as deck presentation and data visualization in the delivery of standard and custom studies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience in applied statistics, OR market research or master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics or related field with at least 4 years of experience

  • PhD with 0-3 years of industry experience (preferred).

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python/R, SQL and/or PySpark.

  • Understanding of machine learning and deep learning algorithms and statistical models.

  • Ability to prototype business questions into mathematical formulas and develop algorithms.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to perform moderate analysis and information gathering.

  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of presenting complex information credibly and effectively.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strict attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the healthcare industry, particularly in pharmaceutical commercial analytics.

  • Experience analyzing patient-level data such as medical claims, prescription data, and insurance claims.

  • Familiarity with large-scale data projects and analytical product development.

  • Proven ability to discover insights from large data sets and interact with cross-functional teams.

  • Project/program management skills in data/analytics settings.

  • Ability to multi-task balancing work needed across multiple client projects at the same time.

  • Experience in web application development and MLOps is a plus.

  • Strong presentation and data visualization skills are a plus (Power Point, Excel, Tableau etc.).

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $120,700.00 - $201,100.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
