PURPOSE

Direct and oversee Patient Recruitment Programs Operations Globally. Lead a large, global patient recruitment organization comprising of experts in design and implementation of patient engagement, recruitment and retention solutions for both clinical development trials and observational studies. The activities of the Patient Recruitment Programs team are organized around 4 pillars: Solutions Management, Creative Services, Operations and Digital Solutions. The leaders of the 4 units will report to the Sr Director, Patient Recruitment Programs. The Sr Director, Patient Recruitment programs is accountable for the activities conducted by the functional and operational leaders and staff ensuring project and business unit deliverables are achieved for each role within span of control and customer expectations are exceeded. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create and implement effective strategic goals and metrics for Patient Recruitment across regions/countries and work with senior management to develop overall business strategy for the department
  • Drive quality or process improvement initiatives related to corporate or departmental strategic plans.  Provide leadership to ensure proactive support of global marketing and sales activities within patient recruitment.
  • Identify and direct implementation of new initiatives and technologies into patient recruitment and retention programs.
  • Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations.  Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems.
  • Set the vision and priorities for the Patient Recruitment Programs team across all functions, including: Operations, Digital, Editorial, Content, Studio, Medical and Copywriting and Production.
  • Collaborate with the Site and Patient Networks leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and staff designed to meet departmental goals and objectives
  • Responsible for departmental P&L
  • Direct the hiring and selection process for a function/region/country or office and work collaboratively with senior management to set targets for recruitment and retention across roles.
  • Take ownership for strategic initiatives within assigned unit of accountability including development of measures for success.
  • Provide leadership to ensure all SPN service offerings meet or exceed customer expectations. Ensure the improvement of the execution of SPN processes.
  • Contribute to the provision of strategic leadership and approval for the resourcing process and outcomes, hiring targets and processes and onboarding and training standards.
  • Provide a leadership role in resourcing process through continual evaluation of existing and future resource alternatives, pro-active planning and collaboration with SPN leadership and operational peers.
  • Evaluate regional/functional workload, quality and budget metrics through regular review and reporting of findings. Collaborate with senior management and other functional leadership to improve efficiencies, project outcomes and quality metrics for SPN projects.
  • Act as a coach and mentor for line managers as they develop in their role. Work collaboratively with project leadership including the PM, client representatives and other functional leadership to manage project related challenges and to achieve exemplary customer service.
  • Pro-actively plan for appropriate SPN operations budget consumption and guide line managers in managing variances and in developing corrective fiscal action plans.
  • Effectively communicate and describe all SPN service offerings to internal and external customers.
  • Ensure quality and regulatory appropriateness and acceptance of all service offerings.
  • Lead corporate or departmental quality or process improvement initiatives. Act as a client liaison for SPN function

Job Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Expert in designing and implementing end-to-end patient engagement, recruitment and retention solutions in multiple geographies, with a strong experience in digital solutions
  • Knowledge of the drug development processes and in depth knowledge of patient recruitment processes and practices.
  • Expert ability to analyze metrics and information; ensuring activities and strategies are data driven
  • Knowledge and ability to apply GCP/ICH and applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Knowledge and ability to apply
  • Knowledge of clinical research financial parameters and project financial tracking and accounting methods
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Computer skills including proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including good command of English

  • Effective time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master's degree in a health care or other discipline or educational equivalent relevant to PRP activities; 12 years of relevant industry experience with 8 years of experience in a leadership capacity; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Fluent English (bi-lingual) + another spoken and written language
  • Strong experience in patient engagement, recruitment and retention solutions
  • CRO experience
  • Experience in managing vendors
