Senior IT Architect - Summary: A senior IT resource responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technical assets to deliver a value-added solution. The Sr. IT Architect interprets the business architecture from a technology perspective, assembles the appropriate team of technical architects, and coordinates their work to deliver the appropriate architecture specification. The Sr. IT Architect is an independent thinker who collaborates with other senior IT resources to devise elegant solutions to complex business and technical problems. He/she may act as an expert in one or more technology areas.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for all architecture and design activities related to the QRPM product Accountable for the Architecture Solutions for a given Business Area – how all the components, subsystems, platforms, and integrations fit together to meet the business needs and how the solution fits in with the greater enterprise context.
  • Establishes and documents an architectural design that satisfies the solution’s architectural requirements. Ensures that the Architectural Specification for the solution is documented in the approved TDA (IQVIA Technology Governance Board) format.
  • Submits Architectural Specifications to the TDA and follows the submission to final approval, positively collaborating with the board on all remediation items.
  • Acts as the project liaison to the TDA.
  • Focuses on the Cost and Return On Investment (ROI) of a given solution.
  • Identifies, quantifies, and records Risks and Technical Debt items associated with the project. Ensures that the risks are mitigated appropriately and Technical Debt is addressed as soon as technically and organizationally feasible.
  • Ensures that key project delivery team members understand the architecture so that the design and implementation will be consistent with the architecture specification.
  • Collaborates with Enterprise Architects, Application Architects, Database Architects, and other Information Technology Architects to orchestrate the creation of a complete solution to a business problem. He is involved in the definition of the solution from the later portion of the Envisioning phase.
  • Works on understanding the specific business domain, designing and creating solutions, and making technology decisions for systems of medium complexity.
  • Contributes to the definition and maintenance of corporate technology standards.
  • Provides guidance and mentor-ship to Technical Architects.
