PURPOSE
Provide hands-on leadership of the Biorespository personnel, ensuring superior execution of biorepository procedures and policies. Responsible for development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of an efficient process and workflow for Specimen Management and Storage.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create actionable strategies that ensure the smooth and timely initiation, integration and quality execution of biorepository services for Clinical Trial patient samples
  • Develop new business processes and create, review and present metrics and that align with Q2 Solutions Biorepository strategy, in order to achieve a consistent and superior service to our clients
  • Propose recommendations and solutions that increase the likelihood of consistent operational success
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhance and actively monitor performance metrics and mentor the departmental leadership team
  • Implement and monitor processes that ensure appropriate escalation of issues and continuous, appropriate communication of issues across Q2 Solutions business units
  • Ensure any and all service failures are identified, investigated, and resolved appropriately. Proactively manage and drive the resolution of client issues, partnering with Q2 Solutions business partners, to achieve a favorable outcome.
  • Develop strategic initiatives that focus on performance metrics, client satisfaction and leader indicator mechanism that are meaningful and drive quality and efficient improvements.
  • Partner with onsite facilities vendor to ensure maintenance of all facility equipment is performed in accordance with Q2 Solutions  SOPs, within a timely manner.
  • Identify, monitor, and maintain the appropriate department resources to successfully achieve milestones and high level of client satisfaction.
  • Develop proactive and innovative processes designed to work effectively across functional departments, to remove road blocks and resolve organizational conflicts concerning people, resources, facilities, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the training status of every employee within the Biorepository is current with training verification and competency assessment completed to deadline.
  • Determine and monitor cost drivers to assist in prospective identification of profitability and resource planning. Balance workload within and across teams to meet operational and client requirements.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years relevant experience including 3 years line management or supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and six sigma principles and application in a production preferred
  • Successful completion of graduate level business courses preferred
  • Central laboratory experience with knowledge of CAP Biorepository Accreditation program a plus
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech
  • Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers
  • Regular sitting for extended periods of time
  • Occasional travel
