Real-World & Analytics Solutions (RWAS) Technology

Within the RWAS technology group, the global architecture team focuses on conceptualization, development and implementation of technical architecture for RWAS products and services.

IQVIA is seeking a Senior Technical Architect with the necessary experience to oversee all aspects of the architecture development during our product lifecycle, who can happily work on their own initiative, and under pressure.

This individual will play a key role in defining the technology strategy for RWAS Technology team with a focus on data systems. RWAS data teams provide a set of capabilities for effective management of healthcare data, which contribute towards transforming the use of healthcare data and providing new ways to understand diseases and the impact of medicines.  The role will involve close collaboration with the Product Owners, working within a team environment driven by Scrum principles. The chosen candidate will harness their experience and expertise with development to define and action solutions to pressing business needs.

A typical day might include:

  • Working globally to support and enrich the Architecture(s) for RWAS’ analytics, consulting, and technology businesses.
  • Leading and contributing to the architectural roadmap for new RWAS systems.
  • Collaborating with the central IT offices and development teams to support the design of infrastructure solutions and making key technical contributions to various Global RWAS platform projects.
  • Leading and initiating the development of new technology frameworks.
  • Acting as senior consultant to product development teams providing system and technical advice.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers and Technical Leads to provision estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan, and serve as a lead as required, to implement the installation and integration efforts.
  • Providing leadership and mentoring for mid and senior-level solution architects and development teams in the Warsaw location.
  • Providing analysis of standards and technologies to ensure the architecture is fit for purpose, to guarantee architecture development and strategy for the RWAS Systems team.
  • Contributing to the overall direction relative to the development of our Systems team, with responsibility for how compliance, governance and regulations affect the handling of data among applications and the overall design recommendations.
  • Designing detailed level architecture in collaboration with the Tech Lead and ensuring compliance with high level architectural view and planning.
  • Working across teams to ensure alignment between teams in terms of application designs, integration architecture and commonly used frameworks.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Fluency in both English and Polish language is essential.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience of developing and creating end to end architecture for highly scalable web applications using modern technologies (i.e. Java, .Net, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs).
  • Substantial experience with middle tier development. (i.e. Java, C#, .Net, C++, REST, SOAP, etc).
  • Significant experience of database design and development (on RDBMS, e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, NoSQL, Hadoop and Spark).  Must possess a good understanding of dimensional modelling.
  • Proven expertise in diagramming artefacts of software systems using tools such as Visio.
  • Experience with ETL Tools (i.e. SSIS, Mulesoft, Informatica, etc).
  • Hands-on experience with tools supporting DevOps capabilities including Git, Jira, Jenkins, Maven, and Puppet/Chef.
  • Experience of delivering large scale complex engineering projects with the ability to lead teams through major transformational changes.
  • Ability to analyse and provide feedback on functional and business requirements developed by product owners and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with analytics and visualization development using patient level healthcare data (healthcare, life sciences, clinical trials or other patient level data).
  • Experience with Hadoop echo system and associated technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Impala, HBase, Kafka etc.).
  • Familiarity with Functional Programming concepts using languages such as Scala.
  • Exposure to containerization concepts and associated technologies such as Docker, DCOS, Kubernetes etc.
  • Hands-on experience with Machine Learning technology is a plus.
