This Virtual Trials Salesforce Architect position will be hands-on in designing and implementing solutions and leading teams developing cutting edge software applications to meet the business needs of our clients. This individual will apply functional knowledge and technical expertise in the design, implementation and maintenance of custom software. This individual has a passion for innovation, and is a hard-working, results-oriented solutions architect who can communicate effectively and lead a team of developers in developing innovative applications for some of the world's biggest companies. The projects inside this group are fast paced, innovative and often the first of their kind for the organization and the industry. This individual will be exposed to a wide variety of high profile projects, so this individual must have strong conceptual problem-solving skills and be highly motivated and passionate about exceeding expectations. RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as top level technical expert on large, complex Salesforce application development projects
• Design, architect and build advanced applications on Salesforce SaaS platforms
• Prepare complex design, development, implementation, and maintenance plans for systems
• Interact with corporate and project team members to negotiate timelines, responsibilities and deliverables
• Document systems architecture in accordance with programming standards and company validation procedures
• Perform peer review of work products such as code, designs, and test plans produced by other team members regarding IT standards and procedures
• Mentors junior team members in training and developing technical expertise
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Accurately estimates the magnitude and time requirements of features and fixes
• Utilizes source control, continuous integration and unit testing best practices
• Coordinates and oversees work performed by external vendors
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and incorporate new technologies
• Provide leadership and guidance to continue to establish development best practices and standards for the organization
• Effectively communicate with authority and conviction.
• Recommend course of action regarding project issues/concerns, implement mitigation plans, then escalate risks and issues to senior IT management as necessary
• Maintain knowledge of competitive and complementary products and experiences.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Minimum of 4 years of experience delivering complex applications on the Salesforce platform
• Experience with Salesforce ISV and OEM models, including product publications on the Salesforce AppExchange
• Experience building solutions on cloud-based SaaS platforms (Azure, AWS, Heroku)
• Experience establishing CI/CD pipelines, including unit and UI automated testing (Experience with Copado is a plus!)
• Experience delivering on a frequent Agile cadence
• Experience managing Salesforce AppExchange approval/publication
• Experience defining and executing targeted rollout strategies
• Ability to identify root causes of technical problems and recommend solutions
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Ability to quickly ramp-up on new languages, technologies, and platforms
• Possess an expert knowledge in software development tools, practices, and lifecycle methodologies
• Must love working in fast paced, rapidly changing environment
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills, and proven track record of presenting to and influencing stakeholders and senior management

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree, and have a minimum of 8+ years of software development experience, strong communication and interpersonal skills; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Candidate should be Salesforce Certified in some areas of application architecture, preferably including integrations

DESIRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Experience with cloud platforms (Heroku, Salesforce, Azure, AWS, Google)
• Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies
• Experience working with a distributed team
• Knowledge of the clinical drug development industry, procedures/processes, and regulatory standards
• Experience working with Mulesoft Anypoint platform
