Project Finance

The UK based Project Finance group manages the financial performance and profitability of the UK held contracts for the Research and Development Services organisation.

Associate Director, Project Finance

Grade 160

PURPOSE
The primary purpose of the role is to be responsible for revenue assurance and project profitability for the portfolio of UK held contracts in the Research and Development Services organisation.

This will be across certain Therapy Areas giving breadth of experience for different types of contracts.

The role will involve managing individuals within the project finance team, reviewing accounting and revenue assurance on the project workload, and working closely with the wider project finance, global finance, and project teams across the world as needed.

Senior Director, Project Finance

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently managing the financial project portfolio of the PFMs under their direction for various Therapy Areas, including but not limited to:
  • Revenue Assurance and Accounting
  • Backlog Management and revenue forecasting
  • Contract Management
  • Compliance including SOX adherence and other audits
  • Supporting the invoicing and accounts receivables team
  • Ad-hoc customer reporting (internal and external)
  • People Management – Managing a team of PFMs
  • Continuous process improvement and automation
  • Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable legislation.  Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems.  Approve actions on human resources matters, including salary administration
  • Appropriately handle personnel issues, conflict management, define goals that increase knowledge and skills of staff, and define staff expectations, consulting and taking advice where necessary.
  • Independently managing internal stakeholders within IQVIA. Stakeholders include:
  • Account management teams
  • Project Operations teams represented by the Project Leader
  • Project Finance Global Leadership
  • Business Finance
  • Ensure compliance with established financial processes.  US GAAP and SOX reporting
  • Management of relationship with PwC UK for elements of the revenue audit locally

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Leadership skills – Ability to lead and work independently
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a multicultural transnational environment
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and devising solutions to complex issues
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Good understanding of management accounting and forecasting
  • Understanding of process design/ process improvement frameworks and methods
  • Willingness to work in a flexible & challenging environment
     

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate or Post Graduate
  • CPA qualified (or equivalent) with relevant experience in finance
