Join a dynamic, global development team building next generation data and web-based analytic solutions for the Pharmaceutical Industry.  As a leader in Market Access analytics, the Market Access Analytic Solutions team is searching for a creative and process oriented agile project manager experienced with SAFe Foundation 4.x

The solution landscape we offer are syndicated solutions accessed by 100’s of users inside and outside of IQVIA and customized analytics supporting the needs of our pharmaceutical manufacturer clients.  The business group is embarking on a modernization project to: implement SAFe/Agile project management, re-platform our data from SQL Server to an enterprise Big Data solution, develop new analytic solutions and create automation tools for both back and front end users. 

Given our aggressive roadmap for 2019 and beyond we are searching for an expert in Agile project management with experience managing the business analysis function.  This expertise will have been obtained with 7+ years leading software development and/or infrastructure development projects with globally dispersed teams.  This role is new to the team and will be responsible for formalizing an Agile/SAFe based approach to project management where experience with JIRA/Confluence is critical.  In the project manager role, you will act as liaison between developers, business owners, and the market access leadership team providing transparent feedback supporting quality and timeliness KPIs.

In this role, you will effectively guide the sprint grooming and backlog management processes.  You will negotiate conflicting priorities, transparently, with the business to set both short and long term goals and objectives.  As a SAFe practitioner, you will serve as the release train engineer and plan/manage the Program Increment (PI) design sessions on a quarterly basis Including summarization of the PI objectives.  You will coach leaders, teams and scrum masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindset.  The Associate Director is responsible for tracking and escalating impediments to delivery.  In the release train engineer function, you will facilitate system and solution demos.

As the project manager, you will be responsible for managing and directing the work of business analysts supporting both platform and custom development work.   The business analysts are responsible for the creation of business requirements documentation, post development technical specifications and facilitation of design sessions with internal and external clients. 

A successful candidate will have led small PMO teams (2-5 PM/BAs) for software and/or IT infrastructure development projects.  The Associate Director has responsibility for goal setting and performance management of the team.  They should have experience with developing career progression plans for the team.  With the aggressive roadmap for 2019/2020, the Associate Director will balance competing priorities and set healthy and attainable development goals for the team.

The Associate Director is a key member of the Managed Markets Development Leadership Team joined by colleagues responsible for infrastructure/data, custom software development, project management/business analysis, and client engagement.  As a member of the leadership team, the associate director is expected to contribute to the overall strategic vision for the organization by effectively balancing development initiatives with resources/cost constraints.  The individual should be experienced in advocating for their team and the solution with data-based recommendations for improvements.  The Associate Director will ensure project risks are managed and deviations to plan are identified and mitigated with the leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and mentorship for 2-5 PMs/BAs, both on and off-shore
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by synthesizing vision, roadmap, backlogs, and pre/post PI Planning meetings
  • Coordinate sprint planning for multiple development teams
  • Summarize team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives
  • Support capability estimation by teams and the roll-ups to epics
  • Develop and support metrics analyzing execution of features, capabilities, sprint burn-down, and sprint retrospectives
  • Establish ART and Solution train program/solution Kanban's and Agile boards
  • Manage program risks and dependencies
  • Establish SAFe Foundation project management principals for solution delivery and business owner teams.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in business management, computer science, project management or related field
  • CSC Certification. RTE/SPC SAFe certification preferred
  • 7+ years of total experience as an Agile Scrum Master, Project Manager, Release Train Engineer and/or Product Owner
  • 3+ years directly managing project managers/business analysts
  • 3+ years of leading data and infrastructure intensive development projects
  • 2+ years leading agile projects in a SAFe ecosphere
  • Experienced using JIRA / Confluence
  • Proven documentation and organizational skills
  • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Creativity
