Principal, Technology – Real World Analytic Solutions, Enterprise Solutions Team (EST)

As a Principal within RWAS-EST, you will demonstrate a proven technology skill set that showcases IT consulting and/or IT management work experience.  Your experience will be at the interaction of IT and the healthcare industry accompanied by an awareness of relevant IT topics, themes and trends.

Core skills

  • Strong consulting / client service mindset including natural curiosity, logical structuring & storytelling, project & people management skills and close attention to detail & quality
  • Proven track record in leading, managing and delivering IT transformational projects involving application of advanced technical/business skills
  • Aptitude for problem solving and critical thinking, and enjoyment of, team leadership
  • High motivation, personal initiative and self-discipline for planning and organizing tasks
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience/ specialization in Pharmaceuticals or Healthcare and working with healthcare data a major advantage
  • Passion, knowledge, and experience working with RWD

Functional IT skills and experience

  • At least 9-12 years of experience working in technology management and/or consulting; e.g., designing, developing, and deploying healthcare information technology-focused solutions
  • Track record of selling and delivering against IT focused programs
  • Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and multiple projects
  • Ability to translate business needs into requirements and functional design specifications
  • Familiarity with concepts of service-oriented architectures (SOA), enterprise technology, building SQL and cloud-based solutions for high-scale business applications
  • Experience extracting from a variety of data sources including relational databases and a variety of flat file structures (e.g. EDI, CCD,) and clinical data standards, medical terminologies and controlled vocabularies (e.g. ICD, NDC, SNOMED, MedDRA, LOINC, CPT) used in healthcare data and ontologies
  • Experience in data modelling and database optimization
  • Expertise in data mining approaches within healthcare settings generating insight from routinely collected healthcare data
  • Experience in visualization and visual analytics of routinely collected healthcare data is a plus

Extra credit

  • Expertise in OMOP CDM and OHDSI methods library, their application in observational research and safety signal evaluation is a plus
  • Experience in user interface design and assessing product usability
  • Experience and familiarity with health economics/epidemiology, and quantitative science such as health outcome modelling is a plus

Real World Evidence (RWE) / Real World Data Expertise (RWD)

  • Understanding of RWE and how different RWD sets are used effectively for Medical, Scientific and Commercial applications
  • Knowledge of RWD sources in the United States (and globally) such as large health administrative databases (e.g., MarketScan/Truven, Optum, CPRD), EHRs (e.g., Allscripts),

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science / Engineering / Informatics / Data Science / Information technology or related field
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA or Masters in IT / Informatics, Enterprise Technology etc.) preferred but not pre-requisite
