Overview:

IQVIA has an exciting opportunity for a Patient Recruitment Specialist to join a small team working in prime clinical trial sites to help with patient recruitment.

The Patient Recruitment Specialist will have exceptional interpersonal and strong relationship building skills, so they are able to sell a clinical trial to an investigator and help them identify subjects quickly and efficiently.

The successful candidate will be a nurse, allied qualified healthcare professional or have previous trial recruitment experience, as well as a commercial attitude; excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to execute tasks with minimal oversight and find solutions in an autonomous environment.

Role Summary:

To provide clinical research sites within Prime Sites the support required to achieve patient recruitment goals and to enable IQVIA to deliver ‘more patients from fewer sites’.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement the IQVIA Prime Site strategy, to accelerate patient recruitment & maximise site productivity, concentrating on recruiting more patients from fewer sites whilst maintaining high quality standards.
  • Enhance the experience of patients, site staff and customers working with IQVIA through Prime Sites.
  • Work with the Prime Site Manager to identify key protocols and sites to focus scope of work.
  • Develop effective relationships with site and PIs and act as a champion for sites within the Prime Site and IQVIA.
  • Provide practical support to study sites to maximize potential for patient enrolment.
  • Support sites to develop recruitment strategies, highlighting recruitment tools, barriers, best practice.
  • Work with research sites to identify and address recruitment barriers – identify common site issues and work with the sponsor and relevant stakeholders to recommend creative options to overcome these barriers.
  • Provide on-going training and information on the clinical trial inclusion and exclusion criteria to the study team, where required conduct recruitment training for new study staff.
  • Act as a resource for healthcare professionals at clinical study sites by sharing best practice and strategies for patient identification and retention.
  • Conduct recruitment training sessions for key studies – such as facilitating study ‘walk through’s’.
  • Identify patient flow / pathway through the site and work with identified departments or referral centres to raise awareness of protocol and the potential for patient inclusion.
  • Serve as trial liaison at site to address recruitment problems effectively and efficiently (provide feedback to sponsors, clinical management and project management on relevant trial matters).
  • Escalate any concerns regarding study execution with the project management team.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports of site visits using Site Contact Reports.
  • Provide input into Clinical and Project meetings where required. Establish and present ‘proof points’ or case studies in recruitment success.
  • Be an active member of the Prime Site Joint Operations Committee and attend the Prime Site Joint Executive Committee as required.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or related field or equivalent training
  • GCP certificate
  • Current registered healthcare practitioner qualification preferred

Experience and Skills

  • In depth clinical trial experience including patient recruitment experience
  • Customer service skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, able to establish rapport with a wide range of people
  • Prepared to travel throughout the North West with the likelihood of being on-site 3 times a week
  • Strong oral and written communication skills must be able to communicate in English
  • Commercial insight
  • Ability to coordinate activities across multiple functions
  • Effective time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to quickly gain an understanding of a situation and to have a solutions-based approach to resolving problems
  • Ability to work independently – candidates should be self-motivated
