IQVIA Consulting Services provides tools to the Life Sciences industry in countries around the world. Our data, software, and consulting practices help pharmaceutical companies make better strategic and operational decisions. We are looking for candidates to build a new generation of software models and tools. You will work directly with Life Sciences clients to structure problems, and with our tight-knit group of modeling experts to build new tools to solve those problems. A blend of people skills, as well as coding knowledge and a rigorous understanding of analysis and modeling, are considered essential for the job.

We are focused on building first-in-class or best-in-class solutions that are elegant, real-time, data-focused and simple. We understand that a great solution is not just about “blindly” building a software model, but about bringing together software with a deep understanding of client needs to deliver a solution that is right for the job. As such, this role will require you to develop, pilot and deploy new products that meet the needs of our customers and the industry. You will work directly with individuals with 20+ years of experience in the industry, and report to the Software Lead for delivering those products.

Candidates interested in joining IQVIA as a Software Engineer must have:

  • 5 or more years work experience in C# or an equivalent programming language, with experience building web tools (including some familiarity with JavaScript)
  • Experience in full stack web development including databases, UI and algorithm design
  • The ability to work in a cross-functional team that both interacts with clients and builds software models. This requires great communication skills as well as a track record for building consensus, driving change and creating solutions first-hand
  • Experience training and managing junior developers
  • Direct experience in building decision models that help customers make better decisions through simplifying data and problems to their essence
  • Strong analytical abilities. You enjoy absorbing large amounts of data and finding quantitative insights based on an understanding of complex systems
  • Intellectual curiosity, discipline and attention for structure and details
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computational Mathematics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent field.

This is a full-time, on-site position located in our San Francisco, CA office
