In this context, the IQVIA Master Data Management Director position will be responsible for defining and executing the overall MDM roadmap, including MDM data architecture, data governance and communication, working transversally with a large number of business and technical stakeholders. The role will be involved in a series of strategic initiatives requiring architecting MDM solutions and communicating the strategies to various stakeholders and to drive execution framework to improve data ownership and data quality. Establish and govern master data management and governance framework, roadmaps, priorities, processes and execution plan across the platforms and functions.

MDM Director responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Design multiyear IQVIA MDM roadmap and owns roadmap execution
  • Supports key company programs  (Cloud ERP, Lead-to-cash, Resource Management, Automation...) for MDM, data alignment, data migration, data quality
  • Facilitates data governance and MDM Steering Committees, leading some cross-functional groups
  • Defines, implements and supports IQVIA data governance strategy
  • Is the CIO point of contact for each master data owner across all IQVIA
  • Owns MDM services center to application owners and Global Business Units
  • Educates and communicates with other Functions and Business Units, providing regular updates
  • Develops and enhances relationships with senior stakeholders, actively manage their expectations
  • Defines and maintains data usage cartography: List of applications, list of master data, master data flows between apps to create/update/consume
  • Creates and maintains Data dictionary: Align definitions across business stakeholders, is application owner of metadata dictionary
  • Defines data quality metrics/KPI and implement master data quality dashboards
  • Manages master data compliance (GxP, SOX, GDPR)
  • Owns consistency between master and reference data (e.g. reuse LOV, relations between master data,…) and performs impact assessments
  • Is the first point of contact for new project candidates and assess whether candidates are master data, where to host
  • Coordinates with business process owners, IT & data stewardship teams to harmonize and simplify business processes
  • Establishes a continuous improvement processes to drive clarity in data ownership and to systematically improve data quality
  • Proposes area for automation and better data processing
  • Coordinates his team (2 employees, contractors): Master data projects, data quality, functional support, testing

Required Skills 

  • 7 Years of demonstrated experience in MDM with large scale data and project management
  • Proven experience translating business problems into actionable MDM initiatives
  • Strong business and technical background in master data governance practices
  • Demonstrated skills in communication and change management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage adversity and challenging situations
  • Ability to manage and develop cooperative and constructive relationships across business and functional areas
  • Significant experience in finance processes and master data appreciated
  • Deep understanding of current advanced data management and governance technologies and trends
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize
  • Cooperates transversely, with large experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Commit to Customers and stakeholders
  • Pragmatic & Open minded
  • Leadership & self-starter
  • Tibco EBX experience would be a plus
  • Fluent English spoken and written
