Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing multiple client teams and overseeing the company’s relationship with its clients. The Director successfully focuses the efforts of the Professional Services team ensuring that projects are completed as proposed- on time, within budget. In addition, the Director assumes the responsibility of resource allocation for each of the individual client teams they manage. The Director builds teams and leads them to deliver for clients, ensuring quality control throughout a project life cycle.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Outline expectations of, and communicate effectively with supervised team members
  • Effectively assign, delegate, coordinate and monitor the work of team staff members assigned to client projects
  • Demonstrate an investment in, and commitment effectively with, the client “team” to develop and support a positive mindset about the work, the client and the staff that is involved
  • Establish rapport and trust with a range of staff members assigned to your account(s) – acknowledging the expectations of and on others, identifying team and project needs, remaining open to considering multiple points-of-view
  • Provide a model for project leadership . . . prepared and pro-active, thorough and accurate
  • Encourage and demonstrate unity behind team and company decision-making
  • Effectively incorporate senior staffers from account management as well as other departments as project objectives or issues warrant
  • Make decisions and judgment calls related to the delivery of DrugDev Spark solutions
  • Work with DrugDev Spark integrations team and Clients in the development of user requirements and data transfer specifications for system integrations
  • Actively participate in the performance management process, setting objectives and evaluating performance of professional services staff.
  • Supporting client audits
  • Support the sales team in meeting with potential customers, understanding the needs of those customers, and explaining the value of DrugDev products

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does have responsibility for managing people.

Minimum Experience Requirements

  • Must have BA/BS degree, preferably in a business, science/health care field, information systems, technology or equivalent degree and/or related experience.
  • 7-10 years of clinical development experience ideally from an academic environment, CRO or pharmaceutical company with at least four years of management experience
  • Ability to think strategically and utilize analytical skills to synthesize information and generate insights
  • A ‘multi-tasker’ who is comfortable wearing a lot of hats and juggling multiple projects/responsibilities

Skill Requirements

  • Strong PC skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, Mac OS, HTML, etc.)
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Superior interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and self-motivate when required to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a global company with a team-oriented environment
