PURPOSE

Coordinate and manage the preparation, review, negotiation and processing of customer contracts and change orders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Manage the day-to-day contract development process for large complex contracts

 Act as regional contract expert and key interface for assigned customers, ensuring consistency in approach, metrics and format

 Manage project requirements, identify discrepancies and interact with customers to resolve issues.

 Assist in the negotiation of legal contracting text using Quintiles Global Contracting Policy, templates and approved fallbacks

 Participate in complex negotiations of contract, scope of work and budgets as required.

 Resolve negotiation disputes and / or escalate irreconcilable issues to management team

 Perform quality control edits on all documents

 Provide advice, support and guidance as needed and serve as a mentor to colleagues

 Represent Contracts team at customer meetings and on task forces as required

 Assist in the training and mentoring of Contracts team

 Work closely with team members to ensure collaboration and efficient working practices

 Perform all other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 Knowledge of CRO Industry

 Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and understanding of costing models

 Excellent knowledge of contract and budget preparation and ability to interpret budgets and protocols

 Possess strong analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills

 Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and customers

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 Degree in Life Science, Business Management or related field and a minimum of 7 year's direct experience in Contracts, Finance, Proposals, industry specific operations experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech

 Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers

 Regular sitting for extended periods of time

     Occasional travel
