The role of the Associate Director, HR is to ensure that the business unit needs, and locations that they cover, have the appropriate people strategy and practices in place to support the business’ goals.  This is achieved through the collaborative efforts of a highly matrixed team of other HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, and Shared Services. The role spans a spectrum of activities, from tactical execution to high level strategic planning. As a key member of a business unit leadership team, you will be the expert regarding people related implications and action in anticipation of business strategies, all while facilitating the development of a high performing workforce through the candidate and employee experience. You will have the opportunity to innovate, lead, and drive projects and programs, to deliver upon global and regional strategies.  As a trusted HR expert and advisor, you will partner with leaders and managers to implement organizational design, leadership development, talent reviews, succession planning, workforce planning, talent supply projection, cultural change, and consult on business operations initiatives. This position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Business Partner Alignment to one or two global business lines
  • Lead the operations for the Americas HR team including talent acquisition, health and wellness, and employee relations matters regarding site support
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with HR Business Partners, specialist functions, and Centers of Excellence
  • Ensure line managers focus on the candidate and employee experience by using available tools and resources such as the “moments that matter” program
  • Conduct ad hoc reviews as directed and propose recommendations in handling employment legislation, compliance, HR systems, practices and procedures and, with guidance, provide support and education to line management
  • Partner with senior HR team members for the day-to-day development and implementation of redesign and new local and global HR initiatives
  • Provide HR Partnering to assigned business areas
  • Collaborate with more experienced HR team members on organizational effectiveness and HR partnering change management efforts associated with reorganizations, mergers/acquisitions, and transfers to ensure compliance to local legislation
  • Provide reports and analyses as requested by senior management
  • Support line managers in the recruitment and selection process where appropriate
  • Manage HR-related queries and may work independently or in conjunction with senior members of the HR team and line management on issues

Minimum Education and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of experience within a HR function as generalist or combination of generalist and specialist experience
  • Professional HR certification preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech or the use of other communication systems such as email or instant communicator
  • Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers or other equipment such as voice recognition software that will provide access to electronic data
  • Regular sitting for extended periods of time
  • Occasional travel
