Role Summary

The CCOE has responsibility for its client-facing infrastructure, and must attest to its clients that it maintains robust security policies and protocols and does its utmost to protect client and personal data. With a changing global landscape related to information security and the handling of personal data, this subject has become even more critical.

You will lead coordination of Security and Stanards across Product Development, Client Delivery, and IT.  A leader who will define and enforce standards within the organization.

This role is managing the 100+ servers and virual machines worldwide and 20+ products that the organization has responsibility for.  It will be a client facing role, as you will be involved with RFPs, audits, and security evaluations.

The Compliance Center of Excellence (CCOE) within IQVIA is searching for a Director of IT Security and Standards to oversee our organization's internal and client facing infrastructure, globally. Having experienced significant growth over the past three years with now over 100 external facing client applications within Life Science companies, ongoing product development, and a global user base, the CCOE requires an individual to bring strategic and operational diligence to the team to ensure data and applications are properly safeguarded and risk is minimized.

This individual will bring to the team a strong background in information technology, a detailed understanding of information security in a cloud-based environment, leadership skills to drive technology change within an organization, and excellent writing and communications skills to bring their ideas to execution.  This individual will lead these efforts across the IT, product, and delivery teams and will be responsible for managing the end to end IT execution. 

The Director of IT Security and Standards will be responsible for:

Organizational Assessment

  • Executing an evaluation of current security policies, procedures, and configuration highlighting strengths and weaknesses within the organization
  • Authoring of an Action Plan and Roadmap to fill non-compliant gaps and ensure the CCOE meets or exceeds industry standards for IT Management
  • Coordinating audits of systems and infrastructure to determine risks or vunerabilities within the landscape
  • Development of budget and timeline required to complete roadmap

Policies, Procedures, and SOPs

  • Maintaining up-to-date company policies and procedures related to Information Management & Security, including firewall configuration, malware and anti-virus detection, firewall configuration, server/infrastructure hardening procedures, encryption strategy, and password policy
  • Enforcement of approved policies & procedures, serving as the organizational leader for IT Security


  • Planning and building a solution to bring proactive monitoring of IT Standards across the global organization
  • Development of procedures and processes (automated and manual) to monitor the status of all systems across the CCOE
  • Reporting ongoing status to CCOE Leadership  

Skillset Includes:

  • Information Management & Security in cloud environments, disaster recovery, database protection, online and offline encryption, NOC design and build, audit response, SOP development.
  • Hands-on individual who can develop and execute on strategy.
  • Tech savvy with ability to use a variety of tools to secure environment.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
