Job Description

Role Purpose:

Leads all aspects of employee compensation for a large global business unit to support the Company's compensation philosophy.


Principle Accountabilities:

  • Assesses and manages overall compensation programs including base pay, incentives and equity programs in accordance with our  compensation philosophy
  • Develops merit budget recommendations, manages the annual merit review process and ongoing salary administration
  • Manages the annual incentive plan review process
  • Manages the evaluation of new and existing roles as the business changes.
  • Manages the annual market pricing/analysis process to assess the external competitiveness of our ranges
  • Manages the evaluation of sales compensation plans and provide recommendation to Corporate compensation on changes
  • Serves as a subject matter expert to the business on compensation matters and processes.
  • Designs and delivers compensation programs and solutions to support key business initiatives and goals
  • Collaborates closely with Human Resources, corporate compensation, and senior management to develop and implement effective programs to enable managers to more effectively attract, retain, reward and motivate employees.
  • Consults with senior management on the design incentive plans to support achievement of financial and strategic goals and promote global consistency in the use of incentive compensation.
  • Ensures compensation guidelines and practices are established to be externally competitive, consistent with company philosophy and are managed within the organization's financial plan.
  • Develops budget recommendations and forecasts costs for programs.
  • Provides internal consulting support to Human Resources and line management on complex compensation related issues

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or equivalent experience, and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the design and delivery of base pay, variable compensation and sales compensation. Knowledgeable on legislation impacting pay programs. Solid foundation in compensation theories and broad knowledge of practices


Additional Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and program management skills.
  • High degree of compensation technical experience, including MS Excel, and other compensation-related tools
  • Leadership, communication/collaboration and organizational savvy to effectively lead multiple unique compensation change initiatives and projects.
  • Proactive problem solver adept at achieving results in a team oriented and collaborative environment, while also able to working independently.
  • Ability to understand business strategy and plans and translate into pro-active compensation processes.
  • Consultative skills, (i.e. negotiation, influencing, relationship building, conflict resolution and effective communication), and collaboration skills across organizations.
  • Meets deadlines and commitments.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
