PURPOSE

This role is a client-facing position which serves as the compensation point of contact to HR Business Partners and line managers on a variety of compensation matters for a global Clinical Research business unit.  Provides consultative, analytical and project management support in delivering compensation programs across the business unit.  This is a “roll up your sleeves” individual contributor who can work in global and country-level environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guide HR Business Partners and business leaders on compensation policies and practices to optimize how compensation supports the talent objectives of the business unit.
  • Participate in planning, project management and implementation of compensation initiatives within the business unit involving multiple stakeholders with significant strategic and financial impact.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the assigned business unit including the business strategies, talent objectives and competitive compensation practices.
  • Ensure appropriate alignment of rewards to both the business unit’s strategic objectives and the company’s overall objectives.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of global compensation programs such as the annual bonus and merit processes, market analysis, promotions, etc.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of new and revised compensation programs, policies, procedures, in order to be responsive to the company’s objectives and competitive practices.
  • Conduct market analysis and compensation studies in order to formulate recommendations on promotions, internal equity, market adjustments and external compensation offers, as required.
  • Create effective communications to educate HR, line managers and employees on compensation programs and practices through organized training as well as one-one counseling.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies and practices recommending plan revision as well as new plans which are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and company objectives.
  • Assure compensation programs are administered in compliance with company policies and comply with local governing laws and regulations.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrate the highest degree of discretion and confidentiality
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and HRIS skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to communicate data-driven recommendations in highly complex situations
  • Strong consultative  and presentation skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree required with 7 or more years of experience as a compensation professional in a global environment; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Experience in CRO or pharmaceutical industry preferred
