Position Purpose:

  • Defines and implements the oncology commercial strategy, growth and leadership of the practice and its practitioners/people
  • Achieves assigned revenue and profit targets for oncology practice area
  • Elevates and delivers high value solutions that address complex client issues
  • Optimizes IQVIA oncology value proposition and business through joint engagement with other commercial service and technology offerings and COEs

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Identifies and drives the oncology commercial strategy, including new development of new offerings, of the practice.
  • Offers and delivers insightful, value-added oncology solutions that address complex client issues and result in high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Achieves assigned revenue and EBITDA targets for oncology practice.
    • Supports Oncology Principals on business development activities.
    • Oversees delivery, ensuring quality, timeliness and efficiency.
  • Translates ideas and thought leadership into tangible commercial offerings.
  • Maintains alliance/partners with other IQVIA practices, service lines and sales to ensure that the best interests of the client and IQVIA overall, regardless of revenue recognition and other intra-company factors that drive decisions.
  • Remains current on industry and client trends.
  • Proactively continues to strengthen subject matter expertise through on the job experience, participation in conferences and symposiums and other forums for professional knowledge sharing. 
  • Briefs senior IQVIA management on industry issues and implications to the practice area.
  • Contributes to the enhanced awareness of IQVIA in the market place, e.g. through speaking engagements, client meetings, publications etc. 
  • Creates and fosters an environment that attracts and retains top talent.

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:

  • Bachelors Degree with at least 15 years of increasing responsibility in the pharmaceutical and consulting industries. 
  • Proven track record in developing, managing and sustaining long-term relationships with clients in the pharma industry.
  • Knowledge of oncology pharmaceutical commercial operations preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Collaborates effectively with others across the organization to accomplish team goals.
  • Understands the requirements of ownership for profit and loss within practice area.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the fundamental processes of business, their interaction and the impact of external/internal influences on decision making, growth and decline.
  • Has broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, particularly commercial market research and sales operations. In depth understanding of pharmaceutical data and analytics, particularly the use of medical and pharmacy claims. 
  • Knowledge of consulting methods, tools and techniques, related to functional area.
  • In depth knowledge of IQVIA’s business and services and ability to be successful and work well in a matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and planning and change management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Values people’s opinions and encourages knowledge sharing.
