The AWS Architect works on projects focused on migrating our applications from using home-grown and VM-based services into a AWS Cloud environment.  The candidate should have experience in AWS technologies and should be capable of designing and implementing cloud-based solutions.  The position will be working side-by-side with our Application Development and ProdOps groups to achieve these objectives.

In this role, you will architect and develop our AWS environment against which the future versions of our major applications will be deployed.  As part of this, you will be responsible for maintaining architecture diagrams, building proofs of concepts, documenting all work, and training our internal staff on the new environment.
 

Position Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in AWS architecture.
  • Previous software development and/or DevOps experience.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Certification desired.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher.

Experience in Most of the Following:

  • DevOps Automation (Either Ansible/Puppet/Chef)
  • Route53
  • Custom Groups, Roles, Policy. Fine grained access control.
  • Create EC2 Instances
  • Create RDS Database Instances
  • Experience with Cloudformation or Terraform
  • Virtual Machine Hardening
  • Atlassian Bitbucket Server and Bamboo

Preferred Skills:

  • Database Migration
  • AWS KMS
