The Test Lead is a leadership position focusing on technical leadership for initiatives such as testing automation, Systems Lifecycle (SLC) toolset implementation and global cross-platform test strategy development. The position will have technically-focused direct reports and focus primarily on establishment, implementation, monitoring and assessment of technical solutions to application testing needs. In addition to technical strategy development and technical implementation, incumbent will be accountable for development, institutionalization and maintenance of a library of reusable testing assets to include testing scenarios, functional test cases and test data libraries. The position will also be responsible for generating and reporting metrics pertaining to efficiency gains, areas for improvement, risk-based testing plans, test reduction initiatives, and items in support of project closeout/post-mortem activities and overall IT functional group process improvement. The position will work closely with the Director, providing budget planning input, resource planning and in executing departmental strategic and operational plans and for ensuring attainment of departmental goals, implementation of policies and procedures, and performing performance management activities.

⁃ This is a billable role with extensive client-facing contact during US hours.
⁃ Develops and executes test plans and scripts to confirm the quality and success of various technologies.
⁃ Review, monitor and ensure appropriate execution of all testing and validation activities including manual and automated testing of applications and web resources to ensure functionality works as specified; and that a system performs adequately on the platform on which it will be deployed.
⁃ Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions for human resource matters.
⁃ Serve as the primary point of contact and source of accountability for testing activities for projects. Position also is accountable for the quality and timeliness of technical testing deliverables such as automated functional test suites, performance testing and project/platform testing strategy documents. Ensures that deliverables are completed on time and in adherence with SOP’s. Manages the resources and timelines of assigned projects and tasks.
⁃ Serve in leadership role formulating, implementing and managing the ongoing Systems, Validation, and Testing (SVT) strategic initiative to build, grow and maintain a library of modular, reusable testing and validation assets for platforms and applications. Ensures all staff activities and work products align with strategic initiative.
⁃ Lead development and institutionalization of risk-based testing plans for platforms, applications as well as cross-platform projects. Develops implementable test reduction plans for applications and projects to prescriptively select the types of testing required, areas requiring testing, and depth/extent of testing activities. Report on impact via metrics.
⁃ Develop and review methods to assess quality and efficiency of work performed by team, including metrics, internal process improvement, Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
⁃ Responsible for authorizing promotion of all builds to non-production 'test/'QA'' environments and authorizing release of all approved final builds to the production environment for all applications and platforms. Verifies that all build processes are followed and verifies that accurate enumeration and definition of all build artifacts exist to ensure pre-production and released-to-production configurations are established and managed.
⁃ Support the construction of budgets as required and control expenditure to achieve financial objectives
⁃ Maintain knowledge of the IT industry, analyze the abilities of tools and technologies and compare with the needs of the business, recommend potential solutions to managers within the business
⁃ Review and monitor creation of the design specification and other technical documents to a high standard to enable the discussion of the specification with the user community and to ensure alignment with testing strategies.
⁃ Design, review and monitor tests to prove systems functionality, verify business and user requirements are met and that systems will operate as expected in the production environment using manual as well as automated solutions.
⁃ Perform requirements review and provide input to help develop high quality and detailed requirements and ensure traceability and that user needs are met.
⁃ Support and assist in the review of the data model and the system’s architecture and providing testing-related input.

⁃ Ability to deconstruct problems/systems into smaller components and organize components as part of larger system
⁃ Ability to apply logical, analytical thought to a testing issue
⁃ Excellent oral/written interpersonal skills; user focused; work well with team members. Persuasive, yet patient. Use clear concise language.
⁃ Team leadership/supervisory capabilities with previous demonstrated successful management experience.
⁃ Expert knowledge of test management tools and automated test authoring/execution tools including functional and performance testing suites.
⁃ Expert knowledge of test case writing and creation of test data scripts; and, review of test cases to ensure requirements are being tested. Ability to create and execute test cases and to create test data scripts. Test case creation and execution would be for large complex systems interfacing with other products. develop and articulate test strategies by function, application and integration points. create test cases based on functional operation or how the users will use the product
⁃ Advanced knowledge of complex systems architecture and appropriate testing strategies, selective risk-based testing approaches, and defensible test reduction strategies.
⁃ Must be familiar with and experienced with iterative development processes and testing approaches.
⁃ Ensure quality, compliance and adherence to a testing methodology and validation standards
⁃ Ability to mentor and train employees in the transfer of knowledge from manual testing to automated testing. Plan and coordinate testing
⁃ Excellent understanding of current requirements elicitation, analysis, and specification. may provide input in to the requirement deliverable by critiquing the specification for testability.
⁃ Ability to learn new technological concepts and engineering concepts quickly and apply such knowledge to projects and products via appropriate updates to validation and testing strategies.
⁃ Knowledge, use and understanding of the CSV and SLC processes adopted by IQVIA, and the ability to supervise and mentor employees in the functional use of the process and to ensure overall integrity of individual deliverables as well as the overall CSV packet.
⁃ This is a remote position with travel up to 25%

⁃ Proven track-record and 6 years minimum experience developing, implementing, managing and assessing comprehensive testing strategies and platforms for multiple, global application platforms and projects. Ideal candidate will have successfully developed testing solutions in Service Oriented Architecture and Web services environments.
⁃ Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field, and a minimum 8 years application software testing or computer systems validation experience, including 3-5 years of management experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
