Senior Analyst, Global Market Insights (Ark Patent Intelligence)

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for ensuring clients receive a consistently high standard of information, obtaining maximum value from the Ark Patent Intelligence offering (‘the product’)
  • Ownership of several content areas within the product
    • End-to-end ownership of quality improvement initiatives for your content areas, with oversight of end-to-end quality improvement initiatives throughout the product
    • Understands the functionality of the product backend database, ability to run SQL queries and retrieve data from the backend database as well as other databases being utilized by the content team
    • Proposes solutions to identified quality issues in collaboration with other content leads
    • Liaises with tech team to ensure the business rules are sorted, developments are effective and long-term solutions are implemented – minimize short term fixes
    • Liaises with other content teams within IQVIA to ensure efficient and effective information flow
  • Supports the content team with production requirements, carries out secondary research, analyses and uploads the data. Works to agreed standards, priorities and timelines
    • Focus support on one other content area, extending support into other areas in future
    • Conducting patent and related searches, calculating expiry dates, analysis on patent claims, identifying constraining patents, entry and/or review of information resulting from the searches and/or analyses
  • Manages queries that arise from internal and external clients regarding the data or the product
  • Partners with product management/content team and internal stakeholders, providing expert support on client service requests and thought leadership initiatives
  • Runs client demos relating to all or part of the product as and when required

Essential Experience

  • Qualifications in biochemistry/biotechnology/organic or pharmaceutical chemistry
  • Experience in Patent and chemical domain
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare market, with exposure to pharmaceutical patents
  • Experience working with global teams based across multiple geographies

Technical Skills

  • Advanced patent searching skills and understanding of pharmaceutical patents
  • Experience & knowledge of various databases (public/ proprietary)
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Proficient in MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Flexibility (should be ready to take additional responsibility as and when required)
  • Desire to learn new concepts and skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact at all levels within IQVIA and with customers
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and logically
  • Team player and ability to collaborate at all levels but also able to work under own initiative
