BROAD PURPOSE OF JOB:

  • • To provide scientific support activities, covering marketed and pipeline products
  • • To work at the interface between the Medical, Marketing, Sales & Medical Information functions

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary activities include, but are not limited to:

Specialist Driven Primary Care Support

  • • Developing core claims with medical insight for local material use, reviewing materials for Zinc approval
  • • Providing strategic input into brand planning process to ensure medical and scientific credibility and the optimal use of data for competitive product differentiation
  • • Review and critique of emerging data and highlight important articles, develop reactive and objection handling materials in line with core documents (MINT)

Key Opinion Leader Development

  • • Building an opinion leader base and mapping our KOL’s by speciality e.g. endocrinology, cardiology and nephrology.
  • • Facilitating advisory boards and other key opinion leaders to deliver scientifically credible messages regarding MPL’s existing and pipeline products

Sales Support

  • • External customer relationship building to support sales function
  • • Support the sales force in medical focussed activities and aspects of relevant therapeutic areas for Mundipharma products and within the IPHA Code of Practice
  • • Training and updating all relevant employees on diabetes market and/or specific product data
  • • Ensuring PV requirements are met in line with objectives

Clinical Support

  • • Providing scientific support to reactive requests on Scientific Data associated with Mundipharma products. Ensuring ethical promotion of MPL’s products and activities
  • • On an adhoc basis, involvement if required with European Research and Development function in Phase IIIb and IV clinical trial development for Ireland, including review of protocols and clinical study reports ensuring feasibility and commercial benefit to MPL
  • • Liaison with external customers regarding feasibility and support for Investigator Initiated Trials and generation of RWE

Continued Professional Development

  • • Ensuring up to date commercially relevant knowledge is enhanced by undertaking relevant training
  • • Ensure updated PV training
  • • Continued focus with CL to enhance MPL partnership credibility in diabetes market
  • • Attendance at relevant company scientific meetings in order to ensure up-to-date knowledge of relevant therapy areas
  • • Early and continued product knowledge development to ensure smooth and successful launch of products and continual support of relevant business functions, where appropriate also attendance at MSL specific training may be required
  • • Develop and maintain a full scientific understanding of MPL’s products

KNOWLEDGE:

  • • The healthcare sector, including Government departments, customers and competitors
  • • IPHA Code of Practice
  • • Pharma Regulatory environment
  • • Diabetes, Pain, Respiratory therapy areas – required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • • Full driving licence
  • • A relevant third level scientific qualification.
  • • At least 2 years experience within a scientific role in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • • Understanding of the HSE environment.
  • • Demonstrable high level of verbal and written communications skills, and a dynamic personality
  • • Proficient in Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • • Strong team working capacity
  • • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • • Willing to travel to UK and European meetings
  • • Positive, can do attitude, including challenging in a positive and constructive way
