Primary Intelligence Group

As part of the PI group within IQVIA, we help clients build a marketing strategy for their brands using a combination of market research, secondary data and consulting services. Clients often come to us with unstructured business issues – “why is my market share declining?”, “which messages will resonate most with physicians?”, “how can we get ready for an important launch?”. We answer these questions using our analytical skills, communication, and strategic thinking and are looking for smart people with these skills.

Position Summary:

This position is for a full-time Analyst role for either of our two locations: the San Francisco Bay Area (San Mateo, CA) or the Philadelphia Area (Horsham, PA).

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Attend client meetings with senior leaders at IQVIA – listen well to clients about their business issues and take detailed notes in these meetings.
  • Learn about the specific therapeutic areas that you are working in and become a source of knowledge about the client’s brand and the competition.
  •  Leverage your knowledge of the market and the competition to help design research surveys that are crisp, precise, and address the client’s business objectives.
  • Conduct accurate, error-free and high-quality analyses – use your analytical skills to go beyond the data and draw out insights
  • Use creative ways to show data – use a variety of charts and data visualizations that clearly depict results, but also tell a story
  • Aid in the creation of final presentations with insights, analyses, and recommendations
  • Be an internal champion and contribute within the company through activities like leading social events, helping recruit the right talent, training new employees, building firm knowledge, improving processes etc.

  • Analytical with strong problem-solving skills
  • Communicates confidently in a clear, concise, and articulate manner
  • Team player who builds relationships and trust with colleagues and clients
  • Takes ownership and is proactive in learning and delivering with excellence
  • Manages multiple tasks/projects effectively using good judgment and prioritization skills
  • Expert in Excel and PowerPoint


  • Advanced degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s or PhD)
  • Right to work in the US without Company sponsorship (preferred)
  • Excellent conversational and written English
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for clients
  • Past role(s) in market research, consulting, competitive intelligence, marketing, and/or pharmaceutical industry experience a plus, but not required
