Manager, Support Services

The primary focus of the role is to lead and line manage a Support Services team responsible for all administrative and project support elements of delivering global pharmaceutical meetings including vendor and supplier management, Investigator payment management, project financial management, post project reporting and project administrative support.  The team’s primary focus is investigator meetings, both face to face and virtual meetings, as well as some smaller meetings e.g. advisory boards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Line management of the UK, Bulgaria and India delivery team (approx. 10 people)
  • Resource management – assigning projects, hiring/onboarding, freelance resource and cost control
  • Continuous improvement (updating and ensuring adherence to SOPs, streamlining processes, identifying/coordinating training, etc.)
  • Maintaining and improving quality - ensuring corrective actions are in place for issues raised, ensuring lessons learned and best practice are shared .

Skills and Experience required:

  • Strong line management experience including remote management
  • Strong understanding of working across different cultures
  • Ability to build effective relationships with direct reports and wider team members
  • Collaborative team worker who creates a climate of cooperation and inclusion across all functions and regions
  • Strong organisational, planning, project management and logistics skills
  • Understanding of LEAN principles
  • Good leadership, presentation and influencing skills over peers, business partners, clients and associates
  • Demonstrates ownership, accountability and proactivity
  • Adaptable to organizational change and sets example by championing change
  • Strong business acumen; ability to understand the interests of clients as well as of IQVIA
  • Flexible personality and a quick learner who operates with a sense of urgency and is adaptable to changing priorities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities
  • Strong finance skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and articulate recommendations and solutions based on this analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results to the appropriate quality and timeline metrics
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organisation and leading and participating in global teams
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical industry or medical communications or healthcare/PR agency environment beneficial but not essential
  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical regulatory environment beneficial but not essential
  • Background in meetings management beneficial but not essential
