Sr. Software Engineer (Python/Machine Learning/NLP)

Purpose
You will be part of the IQVIA AI team building the next generation of smart machines. This provides an opportunity to get in on the ground floor level of something new and exciting for an industry working with the latest and greatest technologies. Seeking candidates who are passionate about AI and can show examples of their skills utilizing open-source capabilities. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent programming skills in Python
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Data Science methodologies, technologies and techniques, in the field of Machine Learning, Deep Learning and/or Natural Language Processing (NLP), for example:
  • Data wrangling with Pandas, NumPy and SciPy libraries. Machine Learning - deep learning, online learning, transfer learning, reinforcement learning, structured/unstructured learning with Tensorflow, Keras, SciKit-Learn etc. Natural language processing with NLTK, Spacy or Gensim libraries. Knowledge of OpenNLP, StanfordNLP, Translation, Semantic Ontology, Natural Language understanding/generation.
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL data repositories
  • Familiarity with docker and docker-compose
  • Experience with building APIs and services using REST
  • Experience with Optical Character Recognition (Tesseract, Abbyy etc.)
  • Experience with Information retrieval technologies like Elasticsearch, Solr, Lucene etc.
  • Experience and knowledge of Computer Vision, using OpenCV or other libraries
  • Master’s/Doctoral degree in related field

Responsibilities

  • Development of intelligent applications using Python Software Engineering and tools such as Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing among other capabilities.
  • Acquisition, exploration and cleaning of data, leveraging data gathering techniques and assessing the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources
  • Modeling/Algorithm development
  • Propose testing/evaluation strategies and pertaining processes
  • Maintain and improve models over time for accuracy and additional features; develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
  • Contribute to the research activity, enabling the utilization of new algorithms enhancing the performance of new cognitive computing platforms
  • Help the research and development of a local AI team, deliver practical AI components to be used within clinical processes.
