ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Information Security Security Analyst role presents a dynamic opportunity to ensure the secure operation of the IQVIA global information technology (IT) infrastructure and processes through developing and implementing security safeguards and providing input to the enterprise IT security program. This role plays a large part in our Global Information Security team and will provide an excellent opportunity to liaise with key external and internal stakeholders while strengthening Information Security capabilities. 
This role will be part of a global Information Security organization, partnering with the IT community, business teams and delivering an ongoing IQVIA global information security program. Contribute to success of information security architecture work stream through understanding current capabilities, assessing any gaps and building a roadmap to bridge those gaps. 

This role will require to partner and work closely with other IQVIA Information Security managers and staff, and liaising regularly with senior management at IQVIA, including members of CIO organization, Global Technology Pillars and Business Units teams. Principal responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, maintain and implement improvements to a landscape of technical security safeguards, including assessment and deployment of technologies, systems and associated processes and procedures
  • Facilitate organizational change by defining strategies for QuintilesIMS with respect to technology domain standards and design goals
  • Mid-level knowledge in developing security architecture, frameworks, design patterns, standards, reference architectures and best practices 
  • Conduct research focused on identifying emerging technology solutions that reduce costs, increase efficiencies, provide more value, provide more capabilities, reduce risks, and increase security
  • Lead efforts for technology evaluations, which involves identifying a weighted feature matrix for a specific need and evaluating and scoring products against the desired features; Research activities include readings, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and lab testing
  • Assess, monitor and recommend improvements to the global architecture based on improving practitioner productivity, reducing risk, and balancing costs
  • Proactively identifies technical and architectural risks, commenting and/or providing alternatives for improvement
  • Ability to lead complex, cross-functional problem-solving initiatives
  • Oversee and consult with project teams to ensure adherence to security design patterns and best practices
  • Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities; obtains and compares information from different sources to draw conclusions, develops and evaluates alternatives and solutions, solves problems, and chooses a course of action.
  • Contribute to effectiveness of information security operations providing expert analysis and input to incident identification, response, resolution, and post-incident forensics investigations
  • Translate internal and external security requirements into design of specific information security safeguards
  • In collaboration with internal (IT, legal, audit, business and other) and external stakeholders, develop roadmaps and deployment plans for technical solutions and related procedures in line with global information security program
  • Evaluate information security components of the enterprise architecture, conduct feasibility studies for selecting appropriate and cost effective solutions
  • Design and implement the information security system components including intrusion prevention, vulnerability management, access control, event monitoring and others
  • Lead the development and maintenance of relevant technology and documentation to support internal and external audit recommendations
  • Manage activities of third-party specialist service providers where necessary to support design, development and implementation of information security safeguards


Required skills and experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in Information Security, Risk Management, IT Controls or other related area is mandatory.
  • Working knowledge of IT governance frameworks and standards such as CobiT, ITIL, ISO27001
  • Experience in information technology related positions with working knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, databases, processing systems, web applications, mobile technology, cloud, big data and virtualization
  • Knowledge of information security principles, algorithms, protocols and technologies supporting encryption, authentication, access control, information systems attack patterns, intrusion detection, and network security
  • Experience in working with automated network and application security vulnerability scanners
  • Experience and commitment in delivering significant value to organization as a trusted advisor
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to communicate across countries and cultures
  • Excellent team player and collaborator
  • Attention to detail combined with strategic perspective
  • Ability to work under own initiative, and enthusiasm to drive through change and multi task
  • Ability to exercise high level of confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information technology
  • One of more of the following certifications: CompTIA Security +, MTA Security Fundamentals, ISACA CSX Cybersecurity Fundamentals Certificate, GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF), (ISC)2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
  • An ITIL or project management certificates are not required but beneficial


Additional Requirements

  • The position may require occasional domestic and international travel of approx. 15%.
