Senior Network Systems Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide global Network system connectivity and engineering support.
  • Assess and diagnose technical problems, identify root cause and recommend solution.
  • Develop automation solutions for network systems.
  • Implement Global Network Services (GNS) standards by taking high level architecture designs to low level, quoting of hardware and producing bill of materials for projects.
  • Provide advice, support and guidance on supported network systems, applications and appliances to other internal network engineers, internal and external customers.
  • Direct technical services and serve as technical lead, managing connectivity planning, documentation and support across local and regional geographies.
  • Provide primary problem management support by receiving, troubleshooting, and solving the daily incidents and escalations reported by internal and external customers.
  • Provide technical leadership and recommendations for projects that impact multiple departments or countries.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Perform other duties as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced Cisco routing and switching as well as WAAS, Identity Services Engine, Unified Wireless and other Cisco technologies
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco ACI, and Nexus datacenter platforms
  • Experience with DevOps and automation platforms including scripting with Cisco ACI using XML, JSON, Postman, Ansible, Python and other API based systems
  • Strong knowledge of network segmentation and security in the data center
  • Experience with deploying Arista Networks in the data center
  • Strong knowledge of automation and integration with VMware NSX-T
  • Branch office automation experience with Cisco DNA – other vendors a plus
  • Experience with Palo Alto Panorama and firewalls
  • Knowledge of Cloud Engineering Platforms – AWS Direct Connect, Azure
  • Experience with Linux command line and tools
  • Administration of services such as DHCP, DNS
  • Possess strong task/timeline-oriented skills to ensure projects are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Possess excellent organizational, communication (both verbal and written), and technical skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Networking or related field; with minimum 7 years of experience in networking environments or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
