This position will lead, manage and direct strategic planning and detailed analysis for technology products within Data Management, Biostatistics, Safety and Regulatory areas.  This resource will lead matrixed teams to plan and design technology solutions.  These solutions will form a major technical foundational component in IQVIA’s overall strategy to deliver technology to improve clinical trial execution. Your contributions will be directly visible to the senior management.  The role will require collaborating cross-functionally with clinical stakeholders, analytic and technology teams, offshore resources and third-party vendors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define the vision and strategy for assigned business area and products factoring in internal and external demand, aligning to strategic initiatives to drive business growth, productivity, and quality
  • Lead enterprise technology roadmaps and portfolios
  • Apply expertise in business process and technology, bringing innovative ideas to solutions
  • Develop robust business cases and use defined ROI to prioritize investments by balancing value, time-to-market and cost
  • Ensure compliance and quality for technology delivery of assigned solutions
  • Work with business to understand how their strategy and ideas translate to value and return on investment; Partner with the business to explore and evaluate new ways of approaching process and problems
  • Align technology strategies to business imperatives and help others understand how technology can connect and drive business goals; Define clear roadmaps, targets, and set expectations about how technology will support strategic business objectives
  • Lead Business Analysis and Product Management for select platforms and products
  • Work with Program Management to align resources, teams and process to ensure successful execution of capabilities across programs
  • Work with IT delivery programs to establish processes and approaches to optimizing the way we work together
  • Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable legislation. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions on human resources matters, including salary administration
  • Perform other duties as required


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong combination of the following skills:  strategy, leadership, business analysis, solution architecture, program management, and relationship management
  • Innovative and strategic thinking capability 
  • Excellent knowledge of data and analytics technologies required to translate data to insight
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to lead a virtual team in a matrix structure
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and stakeholders
  • Excellent negotiation skills and good understanding of legal agreements (master service agreements, work orders, leases, consulting service agreements, other)
  • Ability to manage, develop, administer, and track capital and operating budgets
  • Knowledge and experience of clinical trial operations and validation requirements of a regulated system are preferred
  • Limited travel will be required
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle


MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field; with 12-15 years technology experience including previous strategy and management experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
