This role is based in the international PMR team there are hubs in  Italy, UK, Madrid and Switzerland therefore the role can be based in any of these locaitons , and can be based from a home office in these location. The most important skill is an ability to listen to client needs and translate them into operable market research and consultancy solutions.

This role is reasonably high profile and  holds with it the responsiblity for bringing in a budget of around $2.5-3m in the first year.  Ideally the candidate should be well-known within the pharmaceutical market research industry, have presented papers at EphMRA and similar congresses or have been involved in workshops with external organizations.

The principal works directly with clients to provide value added input, to develop business opportunities that will lead to additional starbursts and to deliver projects built around strategic issues. Has responsibility for ensuring delivery of high levels of client satisfaction. Works within the Primary Intelligence CoE area but may have responsibility across multiple expertise areas and/or clients, ensuring that the full range of IQVIA offerings are incorporated into solving client objectives.


The role involves business development, selling the range of services offered by IQVIA within the PMR arena but integrating them with IQVIA data assets and consulting offerings. Working in a team is of fundamental importance and a certain degree of autonomy.

The principal should seek out and identify new revenue opportunities at existing and potential clients – ensuring a continuous flow of business from client engagements. The principal should take a lead role in proposal development to ensure actionable, on-target and timely proposals are provided to clients.

To achieve the business development it is important that the principal builds up a strong working relationship with the sales community across EMEA in particular, but also with the Global GKAM community; the consulting group and CES principals to help generate proposals with an incorporated Primary Intelligence component.


The principal should:

  • provide input and overall guidance to the project management team on projects

  • act as the project leader for the client in the initial scoping phase and project kick-off phase

  • ensure that the methodology used is appropriate to achieve the objectives

  • ensure that the right project management team is in place for the day-to-day management of the project

  • quality control any interim and final deliverables of the project

  • if not present the final results, should be present to provide guidance and additional insights to the client


    The principal should:

  • provide guidance and mentoring to junior members of the broader team
  • helping guide the choices of junior members regarding training requirements and areas for improvement and help put in place plans to improve and means of checking progress
  • help innovate the offerings and processes by providing input on methodologies, process set-up and ensuring that progress is made in a timely fashion.
