Responsibilities

Work with architecture, requirements analysis, and development teams to understand application functionality and testability. Participate in test planning, test scope definition, and test scheduling. Design, write, and execute test cases to prove system functionality and verify business and technical requirements. Build repeatable test scenarios that can be used for regression testing. Participate in test plan and test case reviews and obtain required project team approvals. Participate in test environment topology definition and planning. Develop and document all test data sets.  Create and maintain source-to-target mappings. Document system defects, track defect resolution, and conduct retesting. Assist in maintaining end-to-end traceability between requirements, design, implementation, and test for all assigned areas of responsibility. Participate in business and technical requirements reviews as needed. Identify opportunities for automation and develop automated tests for information security software systems. Contribute to the authoring of support and operational documentation (system/operations manuals, user guides, knowledge-based articles, etc.)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Five or more years of experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and/or Software Test Lifecycle (STLC.)
  • Three or more years of experience with complex software systems.
  • Three or more years of experience in functional and system testing; end-to-end and interoperability.
  • One or more years of writing or developing automating test cases. 
  • Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, Perl, Python, Linux Shell etc.
  • Three or more years of experience with troubleshooting and fault insertion. 
  • Ability to thoroughly and accurately follow manual test procedures, accurately recording test evidence.
  • Experience with HP ALM or similar test case repository.
  • Experience with software development methodologies; Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Experience with JIRA, TopTeam, Service Now tools.
  • Able to write queries in SQL.
  • Experience in Cyber Security/Information Security systems development and/or testing.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, Behave, Robot, TestNG, etc.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Information Technology or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of complex software systems testing or combination of software development and test experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers.
  • Regular sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Some schedule flexibility in late afternoon/evenings in order to better overlap US hours, Eastern Standard Time (EST.)
