The Analytics Center of Excellence

Our new Analytics Center of Excellence (ACOE) team harnesses our global healthcare insights, working closely with our clinical and therapeutic experts to power evidence-driven design, speed site activation and recruit the right patients, faster. DevOps Engineer – the role

As a DevOps engineer in the ACOE, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and monitoring the infrastructure which hosts applications and services for multiple products. As the bridge between infrastructure and data science product development teams, you will collaborate with ACOE data science teams and coordinate with several IQVIA IT groups to build, maintain, and support the infrastructure and deployment pipelines for the wide range of product offerings that drive business value.

Your typical activities might include: 

  • Designing and developing automation templates/tools for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, monitoring & change management specifically in a Kubernetes environment
  • Designing and developing systems and tools for Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployments (CI/CD) for containerized environments (mostly Kubernetes)
  • Building and deploying data science applications to development, test, and production environments
  • Coordinating with Systems Developers and Platform Infrastructure teams
  • Working collaboratively with internal product teams about deployment strategies for their applications
  • Monitoring, prioritizing, and responding to system, application, and user issues


Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant DevOps experience
  • 2+ Expertise with Kubernetes and Docker and some knowledge of other cloud orchestration technologies
  • Expertise with automation tools like Ansible, Chef or Puppet
  • Good knowledge of Python
  • Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment and knowledge of KVM
  • Expertise in GIT and preferably knowledge of Gitlab
  • Experience working in a collaborative agile environment: Jira, Scrum, Kanban and Confluence
  • Expertise with modern CI/CD tools, including Jenkins
  • Familiarity with authentication solutions including Kerberos and LDAP
  • Knowledge of code inspection platforms like Sonarqube
  • Knowledge of repository managers, preferably Sonatype Nexus
  • Experience with monitoring solutions, including Prometheus and Grafana
  • Experience with logging solutions including ELK stack
  • Complete fluency, both written and oral, in English

We will also appreciate if you have some of:

  • Experience working in Hadoop ecosystem like YARN, Hive, Impala, Spark
  • Knowledge of Kafka
  • Knowledge of Java and/or Scala, knowledge of build tools like Maven, Ant or Gradle
  • Familiarity with SDLC
  • Knowledge about software architecture design patterns, especially microservices
  • Expertise with relational (including PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (including mongodb)
