Job Description:

As a member of the IQVIA Technology Solutions Sales team, the Sales Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the entire sales cycle for our Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, bridges the gap between the Sales and Delivery teams post sale, and acts as a conduit between our customers and IQVIA's offering development teams to drive innovation and competitiveness.

This is a dynamic and rewarding role that puts you in a unique position to engage with a diverse range of healthcare industry clients and help them create solutions to drive the commercial success of their business. You will apply your creativity, experience and industry knowledge to complex business problems within commercial healthcare, become an expert in IQVIA’s technology solutions, and maintain a committed focus to the broader business intelligence, data visualization and analytics technology space. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team with opportunities to collaborate across the product development, information solutions, consulting and sales organizations. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with IQVIA sales executives to develop business development strategies, pitch decks and solution design material
  • Assess and scope new opportunities, develop proposals and contribute to RFP responses
  • Provide compelling product demonstrations and value-driven storytelling to win new business
  • Articulate and defend  the unique value propositions that differentiate IQVIA BI solutions from competitors
  • Understand the unique needs of our prospective clients and position our solutions to address them in a meaningful way
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives within the IQVIA Analytics, Insights & Reporting (AIR) Center of Excellence (e.g. design/develop product demos, contribute to offering development work streams, provide subject matter expertise and product awareness to internal stakeholders)

As a technical and commercial healthcare subject matter expert, the sales engineer has practical knowledge of:

  • The BI and Information Management (IM) technology landscape and stays current with technology trends
  • Understand the technical architecture and capabilities of IQVIA's proprietary BI solutions
  • Has an understanding of the key commercial models and challenges within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry and how IQVIA and other industry information assets are utilized to provide insight and intelligence to commercial stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Market Access, MSLs, Executive Leadership)

This role requires a rare balance of business, technology and sales acumen, but a strong candidate would fit either of the following profiles, or a combination of both:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a commercial analytics function in the pharmaceutical, biotech or healthcare industry, with exposure to the business applications of industry market data and high proficiency/hands on experience with business intelligence or advanced analytics tools

3-5 years of experience in software engineering/development or enterprise software implementation in the IM/BI space, or technical sales experience, selling BI or advanced analytics solutions in the pharmaceutical, biotech or healthcare industry

Other desired skills/qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability
  • Excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills
  • Proven consultative selling skills or experience facilitating discovery/business requirements for commercial BI projects
  • Experience with UI/web design, data integration, Big Data technology, predictive analytics

Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field

  • This position requires approx. 5-10% travel.
  • The position requires individual to live in West Coast City
