Field Service Engineer

Qualified Field Service Engineers will be tasked with overseeing software installations, upgrades, preventative maintenance, and other medical device service-related projects in the hospital setting.

Field Service Engineers will oversee and manage service product implementations through to completion, inclusive of supervising support staff, managing deadlines, and ensuring timeliness of project completion. Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role is desired. Prior experience as a Biomedical Technician within a medical environment is preferred, but not required. Experience repairing, performing software upgrades, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting on equipment is needed.

This role has the potential to include national and regional travel to support accounts. There is also a potential need to complete administrative tasks from home. Any work that is completed must also be appropriately documented and reported against.


  • Perform software upgrades and troubleshooting on medical equipment
  • Conducts conference calls and planning with customers regarding project needs and timelines
  • Oversees and manages support staff during implementation of service products
  • Serves as primary interface with the hospital customer during service product implementations
  • Maintains project records and ensures efficiency, accuracy, and completeness of implementation of service products and records
  • Ability to disassemble and reassemble complex equipment for repairs
  • Unload and organize equipment
  • Communicate effectively with team members and hospital personnel on progress and needs
  • Provide detailed reporting on daily and weekly progress

Job Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Electrical Technology, or Biomedical Technology desired
  • 1-5 years’ experience performing installations of medical equipment and software applications
  • Biomedical Technician, Electronics Technician, Electrical Technician, Mechanical Engineering, or Repair Technician experience desired
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting of hardware and software
  • Prior management or supervisor experience is desired
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills required: proficient in email, Microsoft Office, basic software, and time and expense systems
  • Ability to travel up to 100% (Monday through Friday)
  • Able to work 40 hours per week
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneeling and some lifting of equipment may be required of up to 50 pounds
