The Opportunity

IQVIA’s Real World Solutions is currently recruiting for a Consultant Epidemiologist to focus on design and delivery of secondary database real world research in APAC region. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with IQVIAs internal healthcare databases and external health system / technology partners to contribute to the body of scientific evidence for improved patient care. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with experienced consultants, researchers and data scientists to support the design, development and delivery of a wide range projects. Assignments range in complexity and delivery model, from developing new solutions to address specific client problems, to taking global and regional solutions to new clients.

Assignment Scope & Learning Opportunities:

(In collaboration with other team members)

  • Lead the design, execution and reporting of real-world database (RWD) studies
  • Lead project delivery including managing projects, creating reports, presentations and other client deliverables, leading client meetings and workshops
  • Manage the project teams including data scientists, statisticians and consultants put together from across IQVAI APAC and other regions.
  • Provide scientific and methodological expertise to teams and clients on various aspects of study design to address research questions
  • Conduct background research to define requirements from healthcare databases to meet study objectives and oversee the qualitative / quantitative feasibility assessments
  • Lead the writing of study protocols, statistical analysis plans and study reports
  • Provide methodological insights and senior QC review in support of various study outputs
  • Develop abstracts, manuscripts and/or presentations to conferences for projects
  • Contribute to business development activities and proposal writing
  • Lead operational efficiencies of workflows, including writing of internal guidance documents (e.g., SOPs and quality management documents)
  • The role will involve being trained on multiple IQVIA solutions, as well as doing self-learning to continually develop knowledge and skills

Skills & Experience Required:

  • MPH, MSc or PhD (or an equivalent degree) in epidemiology, public health or a related discipline
  • Post-graduate work experience in real-world evidence
  • Experience in designing and executing prospective or retrospective epidemiological studies, including database analyses
  • Evidence of previous experience utilising large-scale anonymous patient level retrospective healthcare databases
  • Commitment to working collaboratively and effectively with people of other disciplines
  • Strong consulting skills
  • Ability to meet short deadlines with high quality deliverables
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)

Additional Skills & Experience of Value:

  • Experience of working on multi-stakeholder healthcare research programs that could include government / industry partnerships or similar projects within industry
  • Prior experience in working with health organisations, governments and life science companies
  • Business development or sales experience
  • Relevant academic achievements in healthcare or business management
