Senior Consultant, Supplier Relations

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

THE TEAM

The Global Supplier Relations team engages with stakeholders across the pharmaceutical industry, including manufacturers, pharmacies and wholesalers, by providing analytical capabilities and industry expertise on European pharmaceutical policy and supply chain issues. These relationships are further strengthened by our work with country and European industry associations, policy makers and academic institutions. The team has built up expertise in a number of areas including parallel trade, pharmaceutical pricing and policy and as a result we have become one of the leading authorities in these areas.

JOB SUMMARY

As part of the team, a Senior Consultant will produce high-quality insights for our clients.  The projects are often focused on policy issues, using evidenced-based arguments for proposing or supporting a policy, or driving a policy change. Projects can also be focused on supply chain issues and how to create a more efficient or effective supply chain. Work is reported through presentations, thought leadership papers and paid client projects. Clients range from industry associations (National or International), government organizations such as pricing authorities, and companies such as a wholesalers or pharmacy chains. The role will provide longer term significant growth opportunities both in responsibilities and geographic scope.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversee and manage complex projects – both local and global - for strategic partners. This includes managing all phases of the project, from proposal writing to presentation of results
  • Distil strategic insights from analytics that generate value for our clients
  • Coach and mentor junior members, and foster the career development of direct line reports
  • Help drive business development by responding to new business opportunities and by developing and maintaining close client relationships
  • Develop a broad knowledge of pharmaceutical market policy issues
  • Contribute to development of thought leadership materials in areas of interest to clients
  • Produce presentations for senior management to deliver on issues impacting the pharmaceutical supply chain in Europe
  • Conduct primary and secondary research, both qualitative and quantitative to create innovative insights for strategic partners.
  • Develop a high level of knowledge of industry data sources (both IMS and external, local and international) to produce relevant evidence to support policy discussions

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Proven analytical, interpretative and problem-solving skills; with the ability develop novel approaches to address complex client issues
  • Familiarity of IQVIA data would be desirable
  • Experience of producing politically sensitive material and awareness of how to communicate messages appropriately
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and an ability to build credibility with external and internal contacts
  • Knowledge of current events and developments within the pharmaceutical marketplace, emphasizing issues related to health and pharmaceutical policy
  • Excellent IT literacy e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Project management experience with proven time management and personal organisational skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality work within timelines
  • A keenness to learn and commitment to a rapid development curve

QUALIFICATION & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • A strong academic track record, including a minimum of a 2:1 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • A numerate or scientific degree is an advantage
  • Excellent conversational and business English (written and oral); additional languages an advantage
