Engagement Manager, Sales Force Effectiveness

Position Purpose:

Manages consulting projects of varying complexity and ensures on-time and on-budget delivery for clients in the pharmaceutical or related industries. Contributes to new business development and maintaining and strengthening client base.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Management of a large and complex multi-year sales operations consulting engagement, acting as primary client contact and coordinating multiple internal and external resources
  • Manages project teams including both internal and external resources in the design, development and delivery of client solutions for other project opportunities.
  • Provides coaching and direction to the team’s Analysts, Consultants and Senior Consultants across multiple projects.
  • Leads teams to review and analyze client requirements or challenges and develops estimates and proposals that ensure profitability and high client satisfaction with limited senior management input.
  • Develops detailed project plans with timelines and leads projects to successful completion, on-time and on-budget, from start to finish with little senior management guidance.
  • Recommends improvements and alternative solutions to resolve problems. Serves as key client-facing point of contact.
  • Provides high level input to, and ensures the development of, client reports and presentations and delivers all or significant portions of findings to client at project conclusion.
  • Develops and/or elevates new business opportunities through the identification of follow-on work and new leads.
  • Provides follow-up with client after project deliverable have been completed to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Proactively continues to strengthen subject matter expertise through on-the-job experience, participation in conferences and symposiums and other forums for professional knowledge sharing.
  • Proactively mentors, coaches and shares subject matter expertise with others to elevate our capabilities to deliver world-class solutions for clients.
  • Takes a leadership role in the completion of internal projects.

Minimum Education, Experience & Specialized Knowledge Required:

  • Strong academic track record including minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant graduate degree preferred.
  • At least 8 years professional experience in consulting, pharmaceutical and healthcare industry with evidence of career progression.
  • Strong and demonstrable knowledge of pharmaceutical Sales/Commercial Operations including but not limited to: Call Planning, Sales Force Effectiveness Analysis, Targeting, Segmentation, Geographic Territory Alignments, Sales Force Sizing & Structures, and Incentive Compensation.
  • Strong team management qualities.
  • Experience analyzing pharmaceutical commercial data sources, trends and market dynamics and drawing actionable conclusions.
  • Demonstrable ability to draw significant relevant insights from potentially complex analyses or data sets and to effectively package and communicate those findings to clients.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in and commitment to the life sciences and/or healthcare industries
  • A track record of leadership and dedication to people development
  • A willingness and ability to travel to client locations (25 – 35% overnight travel)
  • Fluency in English (spoken & written)
  • US Work Authorization
  • An understanding of IQVIA data assets and core offerings
  • Strong Excel experience with ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets
  • Works willingly and effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals and is effective working in a matrix environment.
  • Experienced with developing consultative relationships with senior level managers and executives at clients in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, juggle priorities and deliver on tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of consulting methodologies, tools and techniques related to pharmaceutical Sales and Commercial Operations.
  • Knowledge of key issues and current developments in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and client influencing skills
