The Analytics Center of Excellence
Our new Analytics Center of Excellence (Analytics COE) harnesses our global healthcare insights, working closely with our clinical and therapeutic experts to power evidence-driven design, speed site activation and recruit the right patients, faster. This is a relatively new unit within our business, integrated within Clinical Operations, R&D Solutions. We’re using big data and advanced analytics and technologies, e.g. Machine Learning, Deep Learning, NLP, Hadoop, TensorFlow, PySpark, to derive insights that transform clinical development and bring new medicines to patients faster through successful trial delivery.

This multi-functional team is an innovation for our business, requiring entrepreneurial and independent thinking to build our capability. Unique and with a global view, this Center of Excellence is a chance to revolutionize the clinical research industry.

US Country Analytics Lead – the role

This is a leadership role within the local analytics team, which will be building and directing a local team of data scientists, machine learning specialists, methodologists, and programmers, to deliver custom analytics to support R&D Solutions business requirements.

Your typical activities might include:
•    Collaboration with ACOE Global Solutions Managers and R&D Solutions business owners to build country-level analytics team capabilities (machine learning, software engineering, and consulting) that will develop and deliver clinical analytics leveraging country-level IQVIA data assets to support R&D Solutions needs
•    Leading the design of country-specific analytic studies in the context of a global trial or new offering development, e.g. disease detection, in silico, in partnership with the Global Solution Managers
•    Leading analytic execution by managing local country and off-shore analytics teams on project
•    Designing and structuring deliverables that are appropriate to the specific needs of project and customer
•    Development and execution of the regional team’s strategies aligned with the wider ACOE strategies, working with the Regional Analytics Lead, UK and North America
•    Successfully building, managing, and cultivating country-level analytics team with varied analytic skillsets (e.g. machine learning, NLP, deep learning), healthcare system knowledge, and related expertise
•    Providing methodology leadership to offerings development team to build out new capabilities leveraging data and analytic methodologists to address R&D business objectives based on local country data and methods
•    Offering mentorship and coaching to the team to ensure knowledge sharing and to elevate ACOE capabilities in the delivery of differentiating solutions for IQVIA project teams
•    Leading the development of a new methodology to integrate new data assets to IQVIA RWD ecosystem
•    Actively seeking for new sources of data assets within the country identifying possible partnerships and collaborations with data owners


Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Pharmacy, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or other related field, with at least 5 years of experience in management consulting and/or healthcare environment. Alternatively, a relevant combination of education, training and work experience. In addition;
•    Experience or knowledge of the tools and platforms used to source, clean and analyze data and do analytics/predictions, such as Python
•    A solid understanding of best practice in software development, e.g. SDLC, quality assurance
•    Working knowledge of data science, e.g. Machine Learning, and OO (Object Oriented) programming experience preferred
•    Previous experience within pharma/biotech companies holding positions in technology and business analytics
•    Strong leadership skills and people management experience
•    Proven track records of leading high performance teams in consulting and/or project driven roles
•    Excels in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
•    Ability to deal with client scoping requests, and to deliver on tight deadlines
•    Knowledge of key issues and current developments in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries
•    Fluent English (spoken and written); strong business/scientific written.
