Director, Strategic Operations (Chief of Staff)

Job Description Summary


  • Work with the R&DS US/Can LT to help develop and execute strategies and initiatives.

  • Work with the head of the R&DS US/Can team to establish and maintain the cadence of management meetings, setting agendas, organization and conduct of meetings, and maintaining communication with the leadership team with a focus on core business actions and execution.

  • Coordinate and improve quality of materials prepared for meetings.

  • Establish common templates, aligning with corporate as appropriate.

  • Help expedite or reinforce operational items and establish timely follow-up on actions.

  • Work with business partners to provide visibility and prepare for activities to support the company’s management system to ensure timelines are met and quality of output from R&D Solutions is high.

  • Establish and maintain a performance scorecard for R&D Solutions, providing an executive summary of key metrics.

  • Help prepare materials to present at internal and external meetings, coordinating input from others as appropriate, and ensure follow-up as appropriate.

  • Manage projects and initiatives, as required.

  • Work closely with key business partners (e.g. HR, Finance) to ensure coordination and execution of strategy.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science, Business Management, or related field.

Additional Work Experience

  • 7 + years of experience; preferably in the pharmaceutical, CRO, or related industry.
