Job Overview
Designs or modifies data models to solve complex database requirements considering business and application needs. Organizes metadata for use by teams.
Essential Functions
• Designs or modifies data models to solve complex database requirements considering business and application needs. Organizes metadata for use by teams.
• Plans, conducts and coordinates the design of state-of-the-art data model designs and metadata management.
• Provides application-level data modeling for project development teams.
• Assists with creating and maintaining enterprise-wide data standards.
• Participates in enterprise-wide logical data modeling and leads efforts on assigned data subject areas.
• Assists with the implementation of metadata management tools.
• Facilitates formal and informal discussions to support database designs.
• Participates in the implementation and management of the global metadata repository.
• Identifies metadata sources, develops metadata management capabilities, monitors metadata quality, and develops common data definitions.
• Coordinates testing and documentation of the global metadata repository and conducts user interviews to gather metadata requirements to insure business requirements are met.
Conduct the following for Oracle on Solaris and Linux and other related products as applicable and necessary
• Install/Configure/Setup/Administer and Maintain production and non-production environments
• Setup High-Availability and Disaster Recovery
• Plan, configure, maintain and test high availability and disaster recovery
• Configure and maintain DB replicas for either oracle (dataguard, golden gate)
• Identify and get necessary alerts setup to monitor database
events/situations/activities
• Create Users and assign/manage permissions based on the level of access
the user would need; ensure robust and full proof security of assets
• Resolve database integrity, performance, blocking, connectivity, and replication
issues.
• Detect and resolve database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other
contention issues.
• Perform and manage Database backup/recovery/restore and capacity
monitoring
• Refresh and cloning of production databases into test environments
• Maintain databases – Statistics, Indexes, fragmentation
• Conduct Performance tuning and optimization (Stored procedures, Views,
Functions, Queries, database etc) using Oracle Enterprise Manager Advanced,
AWR, DMVs
• Implement operational automation using scripts.
• Upgrade and maintain Oracle and related software (apply patches and
updates when necessary)
• Coordinate removal and/or archiving of data that is no longer required to be
available in the production databases.
• Design and create databases to support development initiatives
• Support release/code deployment activities
• Develop and maintain SunOS/Solaris/Linux Shell Scripts
• Develop and maintain and packages, materialized views
• Provide 24x7 support as necessary
• Mentor junior/new DBA team members
• Manage a team of DBAs if necessary
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
Req
• Database systems knowledge with a minimum of five (5) years IT with two (2) years experience in the data administration area. Req
• Expertise with Oracle version 10.x to latest, Oracle Enterprise Manager Advanced
• Expertise in SunOS/Solaris/Linux Redhat
• Advanced PL/SQL Programming and troubleshooting skills
• Advanced Expertise in RMAN and ASM

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $105,000.00 - $157,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
