Associate Scientist, BiotransformationLocation: Indianapolis, Indiana

We are seeking an Associate Scientist, Biotransformation to join Q2 Solutions, IQVIA’s laboratory business in Indianapolis, Indiana.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Perform routine analysis and laboratory testing procedures to obtain data from pre-clinical and/or clinical specimens.
  • Document analytical procedures in accordance with methods and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assess whether analytical procedures are proceeding according to expectations and ensure results are within acceptable tolerances.
  • Identify abnormal progress, potential quality failures, or unusual results and escalate to senior lab personnel.
  • Prepare data analysis results for upload to LIMS system under the guidance of senior-level staff.
  • Assist in writing laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Train junior-level staff and assist with onboarding.
  • Perform and document calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Provide hands-on training for other lab personnel in areas of proven competency.
  • Assist in reviewing and developing laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Implement procedural changes as assigned.
  • Notify inventory staff of supply shortages.
  • Represent the lab team on cross-functional projects.
  • Participate in continuing education through self-study, attending training sessions, lectures, and meetings.
  • Produce quality data and documentation in adherence to client deadlines and regulatory requirements.
  • Support safety and 6S requirements and initiatives.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline plus 6 months of experience, or Associates degree plus 2 years equivalent; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of assigned technical area, systems, and procedures obtained through prior work experience.
  • Understanding of functional area and responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory agency standards within the area of responsibility.
  • Proficiency with pipetting.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures, including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling.
  • Experience working with automation or specialized laboratory equipment.
  • Proficiency with more complex laboratory calculations regarding batches and specimens, including averages, means, standard deviations, and various quality control metrics.
  • Good computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $52,500.00 - $87,500.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
