Job Description

As the Sr Director & Strategy Lead for IQVIA's Medical Affairs Team, you will be responsible for shaping the design, development, and continuous refinement of impact measurement, engagement planning, and KOL mapping platforms to address the most pressing strategic and analytical needs of our Medical Affairs clients. You will evaluate existing technologies, define and develop strategic roadmaps, and oversee execution. Through this work, you will collaborate closely with IQVIA’s regional and global technology teams, expert advisors and sales teams to ensure customers have a seamless experience.

Accountabilities:

Business Development and People Leadership

  • Manage P&L of US Impact Measurement, Engagement Planning, and Expert Ecosystem technologies.
  • Track and forecasting revenue.
  • Seek out and identify new revenue opportunities at existing and potential clients, ensuring continuous growth from client engagements.
  • Provide input into proposal development.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and enhance awareness of IQVIA in the marketplace through speaking engagements, client meetings, publications, etc.
  • Manage a small team of technology and product experts.
  • Proactively mentor, coach, and share subject matter expertise with others to elevate our capabilities to deliver world-class solutions for clients.

KOL Mapping (IQVIA’s Expert Ecosystem): US Medical Affairs Representative

  • Provide strategic partnership to customers in collaboration with US Sales teams.
  • Refine and tailor GTM strategy including integration and connectivity with a broader portfolio of IQVIA solutions.
  • Liaise with Global Expert Ecosystem product owners to ensure the US customer perspective and needs are accounted for in product strategy, roadmap, and delivery model.
  • Serve as the point of contact for US escalations.
  • Support contract negotiation for enterprise deals.

Engagement Planning: Technology Strategy and Development

  • Design and execute the strategy for technology and analytics for Medical Affairs clients.
  • Explore and assess existing technologies across IQVIA’s Global and Regional Enterprise solutions in partnership with key IQVIA stakeholders to ensure they are fit for medical use cases while generating efficiencies and reducing overlap.
  • Create the roadmap for a single IQVIA Engagement Planning platform informed by use cases and client feedback. Ensure integration with Expert Ecosystem.
  • Continuously gather customer feedback to refine the roadmap and keep the platform competitive and innovative.
  • Oversee the specification document for the platform and collaborate and coordinate with IQVIA technology and data science teams to execute.
  • Ensure appropriate delivery and pricing models meet the needs of clients who require different packages.
  • Develop, roll out, and track the GTM strategy for Engagement Planning solutions, including integration and connectivity with a broader portfolio of IQVIA solutions.

Impact Measurement: Technology Strategy and Development

  • Design and execute the strategy for analytics and technology for Medical Affairs clients, including impact metric definitions, analytics and data to track metrics, and user interface.
  • Create the roadmap for an Impact Measurement platform informed by use cases and client feedback. 
  • Explore and assess existing technologies across IQVIA’s Global and Regional Enterprise solutions in partnership with key IQVIA stakeholders to ensure they are fit for medical use cases while generating efficiencies and reducing overlap.
  • Continuously gather customer feedback to refine the roadmap and keep the platform competitive and innovative.
  • Oversee the specification document for the platform and collaborate with IQVIA technology and data science teams to execute.
  • Desire delivery and pricing models that meet the needs of clients who require different packages (e.g., self-service versus insights packages and consultative approaches).
  • Develop, roll out, and track GTM strategy for Impact Measurement solutions, including integration and connectivity with a broader portfolio of IQVIA solutions.

Desired Experience & Specialized Knowledge:

  • Advanced medical, scientific, and/or technology degree. Bachelors degree required.
  • At least 10+ years’ experience in consulting within the pharmaceutical, healthcare and/or related industry with evidence of career progression and knowledge of consulting methodologies, tools and techniques.
  • 10+ years’ experience managing the technology process within the pharmaceutical, healthcare consulting, or related industry.
  • Medical affairs experience is preferred.
  • Intellectual courage and determination to devise and implement strategies and solutions critical to patients, clients, and IQVIA, even in the face of challenges.
  • In-depth understanding of healthcare data, specifically RWD and its use in analytics.
  • Leadership experience in complex organizations with demonstrated results in aligning people without formal reporting relationships.
  • Possesses exemplary business development skills.
  • Strong leadership, client engagement, strategic thinking, and consultative skill set, and the ability to manage complex relationships and juggle priorities.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including presentations, chairing meetings, workshop facilitation, and the ability to develop clear storylines and business cases.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $226,200.00 - $420,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
