Data Quality Officer

We are seeking an ideal candidate who excels both as a team player and an independent worker. This role requires a proactive individual capable of prioritizing heavy workloads with initiative. Precision and attention to detail are crucial, as the candidate must systematically identify and resolve anomalies and data errors.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to understand and assist clients with their data needs. A high level of IT literacy is required, particularly in using spreadsheets like MS Excel for data manipulation, formatting, and analysis. Experience with other Microsoft products, especially Word, is also necessary.

The candidate should be ready to contribute to various tasks as needed. Comprehensive training will be provided for all aspects of the role.

To assist with the processing of incoming data including:

  • Undertaking integrity checks on incoming data to ensuring it meets the criteria set for the relevant survey.
  • Providing a comprehensive level of support, advice, and guidance to clients on all aspects of the survey programme and the prescribed protocols for drawing of the sample.
  • Use and development of macro code to assist with the data integrity checking process.
  • Liaising with clients both verbally and in writing to facilitate resolution of data/sampling errors.
  • Preparing data in the required format for send out.
  • Tracking and recording survey send out activity.
  • Monitoring response rates, flagging peculiarities and deciding appropriate solution or escalation.
  • Initiating reminder letters to non-respondents.
  • Storing personal data in a secure manner and ensuring its destruction at the appropriate time.
  • Assisting with outgoing data verification and integrity checks.
  • Preparing, formatting, and editing data breakdown reports for clients.
  • Amending and amalgamating data sets if required.
  • To assist with all other parts of the survey process as required.
  • Collaboration with all departments within the company to achieve high levels of accuracy and the smooth running of survey mailings.
  • Utilize Bespoke database to receive files and create workflows.

Skills and experience needed.

  • IT literacy, in particular a good understanding of MS Excel and Word, along with a desire to learn the technical aspects of the role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good Time Management and must be able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to multi-task and have good organisational skills.

The Insight and Feedback Teamwork with Health and Social Care Providers and other organisations to carry out surveys of their patients, service users and staff to gather feedback on their experiences of being treated at or working for the organisation.

The Data Team provide an important service ahead of the survey mailout process to ensure that survey mailout data is received from the supplying organisation; is quality checked, corrected, and validated against specific sampling criteria and approved for mail out.   This is an essential function to ensure that survey invitations are sent to the correct participants within the required timescales.
