We are seeking a Laboratory Associateto join IQVIA Laboratories at Valencia, CA.
Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Saturday - Wednesday

As a Laboratory Associate - Flow Cytometry, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine testing procedures to obtain data for use in clinical trials research.
What you’ll be doing:
- Perform routine analysis of specimens and document results in accordance with SOPs and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Evaluate the validity of analytical results against the algorithms displayed by the lab computer system.
- Identify and document potential performance errors or unusual results and escalate to senior lab personnel.
- Prepare buffers and solutions for analysis, as required.
- Perform secondary review of analytical results when signed-off as competent to do so for applicable instrument(s) and/or data type(s).
- Manage post-analysis sample and reagent storage.
- Assist in the development and writing of new laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Maintain good housekeeping of the lab environment, consistent with 6S standards.
- Notify appropriate staff of supply shortages.
- Ensure clear, accurate, and timely communications with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Participate in continuing education through self-study, attending in-services, lectures, and meetings.
- Support safety, quality, and 6S requirements and initiatives.
- Comply with company’s procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
What we are looking for:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or Bachelor’s Degree (some CAP/CLIA lab locations may require a BS in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology).
- 6 months of relevant lab experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Basic knowledge of lab principles.
- Basic knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and applicable regulatory agency standards.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices, including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and terminology used in the area of responsibility.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders.
- Applicable certifications and licenses as required by country, state, and/or other regulatory bodies.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this role:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.
- Detailed knowledge of pathology, specialized laboratory equipment, clinical testing procedures, staining techniques, and applicable laboratory testing regulations.
- Ability to perform routine embedding in a variety of tissues and cut routine and frozen sections.
- Problem-solving ability and clear communication with peers and superiors.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $45,200.00 - $75,400.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
