LIS Manager

Livingston, Scotland

We’re currently looking for a LIS Manager (Laboratory Information System) to manage a small team in Livingston.

Our team work mostly in the Ultra LIS (Laboratory Information System) which is our main system for all accessions from our protocol systems (LTMS, QLIMS and Topcoat) with all configurations except test code database and security handled by the team. This involves instrument interfaces, client system interfaces and most of the troubleshooting. Our team works with mostly the lab department with the largest being Chemistry and Haematology in all regions.

There are numerous projects ongoing now which is focused on standardizing and getting as many lab instruments interfaced to Ultra as possible to avoid manual entry of results and a standardization of a system that provides the lab staff with more flexibility and user-friendly options compared to the existing.

What to expect:

  • Manages a team of professional-level employees.
  • Manages and coordinates the support & configuration of majority of aspects of the LIS (Laboratory Information System).
  • Develops and communicates plans and priorities to meet team performance and results requirements.
  • Establishes team processes, goals, and procedures and tracks performance.
  • Informs and influences decision-making at the management level.
  • Provides coaching and guidance on job performance and career development to direct reports.
  • Collaborates with business leaders, end users, other IT departments, and software vendors to develop and provide appropriate support strategies for regional and global business LIS applications.
  • Provides technical support, consulting, and system-related analysis to project teams, customers, business leaders, and other teams for regional and global LIS business applications.
  • Interact with software vendors, Infrastructure services, and/or Applications Development to restore service and/or correct core problems.
  • Communicate IT issues to business units at various levels of seniority.
  • Manage and coordinate the implementation of internal, external, and off-the-shelf LIS business applications with all IT and business groups.
  • Coordinate with internal and external service providers in incident, problem, and change management, capacity planning and troubleshooting, representing the interests of supported business groups.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Information Management or business-related fields preferred.
  • Prior Central Laboratory / Pharmaceutical Industry experience preferred.
  • Prior LIS IT experience preferred.
