Training Manager

The Training Manager is responsible for developing Sales Professionals learning and coaching activities that result in increased performance and business results across the nation. The Training Manager will enhance the proficiency of a Sales Professional’s selling skills and product knowledge, account management capability, territory business acumen across their geographic area. This role will partner with the Managers and will be deployed to work with specific districts to accelerate the improvement of selling skills and sales model competencies. The individual will apply knowledge of adult learning principles, facilitation skills, and innovative learning solutions to execute best-in-class training programs. The Training Manager will conduct field rides, virtual coaching sessions and live classroom training to further develop learners’ skill sets. They will conduct an ongoing environmental scan across the Region and Nation to identify potential learning gaps throughout the field sales organization.  The Training Manager needs to remain current on healthcare environment, marketplace as well as maintain product and selling skills expertise specific to the team they support.

In addition to the above, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Role Expectations

  • Ensure all training deliverables are delivered on-time and on-budget in support of the sales team.
  • Responsible for the development, approval, and delivery of disease state, treatment, product and marketplace training, foundational and advanced sales skills training
  • Consult with Sales Leadership to identify appropriate training needs/gaps that will support the achievement of department/organization goals.
  • Keep current on trends and developments in the fields of training, performance improvement, and organizational learning, while maintaining/building contacts with training vendors/training professionals.
  • Monitor course evaluations and compliance to gather metrics for the continuous improvement and performance.
  • Demonstrate effective platform skills when facilitating meetings or delivering training to maximize the impact of the session and ensure that information is communicated consistently.
  • Field travel to coach individual sales representative.
  • Demonstrate selling skills regarding the client’s portfolio to understand and meet the customer’s needs by providing appropriate solutions.
  • Continually develops and applies knowledge of adult learning principles, and new learning techniques to best meet learners’ needs.

A Qualified Candidate for Training Manager shall meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2+ years as a Sales Trainer and 2 years leading Sales Training operations for a national sales force preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years Field Pharmaceutical Sales and/or Management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated drive and initiative to identify and deliver on goals and assignments.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of technological resources; examples include Teams, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver’s license required in State of residence.
  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time

The potential base pay range for this role is 80-100K annually. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
