We are seeking a Global Director, Vaccine Assay Development (FunctionalVirology & BacteriologyAssays) to join IQVIA Laboratories in Durham, NC that will be reporting to the Global Head of Vaccine Sciences.

You will be leading a team of scientists and senior scientists, partnering with executive and global leadership to establish strategy, and ensuring implementation to drive achievement of annual objectives and long-term success.

What you’ll be doing:

• Serving as technical lead and point of contact for clients for the functional virology (PRNT, MNA, PNA, HAI, etc) and bacteriology (SBA, (M)OPA, OPkA, etc) assays.
• Leading complex technical projects on a local and global scale (including assay development, optimization, qualification, validation, troubleshooting).
• Supporting pre-clinical and clinical trials for vaccine development.
• Support Business Development including preparation of proposals related to functional virology & bacteriology assays
• Implementing policy and strategy for short- and long-term and results.
• Ensuring effective resourcing to meet client and budgetary expectations.
• Driving innovation and developing new service offerings, processes, standards, or operational plans.
• Ensuring harmonization between at IQVIA Laboratories Vaccine sites
• Monitoring utilization patterns of services and advising on industry trends

What We Are Looking For:

• Ideally PHD degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• 10 years of related experience in method or assay development.
• Strong knowledge of virology and bacteriology concepts and experimental techniques required.
• Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role:

• Strong background invaccines required.
• Well versed in regulatory requirements for GCLP and assay qualification / validation.
• Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure quality performance.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $140,700.00 - $261,300.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
