We are seeking a Associate Scientistto join Q2 Solutions, IQVIA’s laboratory business at Durham, NC.

Job Summary:

The Associate Scientistwill perform routine analysis and laboratory testing procedures, ensuring compliance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines while supporting quality assurance and operational efficiency.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Perform and document analytical procedures with accuracy and consistency, following SOPs and regulatory standards.

  • Analyze data to verify procedures meet acceptable tolerances, escalating issues to senior lab personnel.

  • Prepare and upload data analysis results to LIMS systems under guidance from senior staff.

  • Conduct equipment calibration, maintenance, and hands-on training for staff in areas of proven competency.

  • Assist with quality investigations, procedural updates, and implementation of changes.

  • Prepare buffers, solutions, and reagents for laboratory analysis as required.

  • Monitor inventory and notify staff of supply shortages to ensure operational continuity.

  • Represent lab teams in cross-functional projects and collaborate with stakeholders to meet objectives.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology (required).

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a regulated laboratory environment (preferred).

  • Working knowledge of laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and infection control procedures.

  • Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities needed for this role:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, and close eye work requirements (e.g., typing, computer use, reading small prints). Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.

  • Proficiency with automation or specialized laboratory equipment and routine calculations (e.g., averages, means, standard deviations, QC metrics).

  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities to meet deadlines effectively.

  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and ability to collaborate with internal teams seamlessly.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $47,600.00 - $79,300.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
